Yeah, I've wondered that same thing several times now. Gotta be a typo, yes?

Yes, that page isn't very clear - I was trying to set limits..

In short - as it wasn't possible to set the limits, it's the creators point of view: If you think it's blue, then it's blue. ^^'

I'd be delighted if you tried! :D

Any version : 2R1O2G   -   1R2O1Y1G   -   1Y2B2P   -   5B   -   1O1R1P1B1G   -   Y/B
the letters are the initial of the color (B=blue, R= red...)
the last one Y/B means transition, palettes going from yellow to blue / blue to yellow as you like.

Or maybe you already have some that could fit? Old palettes are welcome too!

I think the IFSP challenge sounds interesting, but after reading through the linked page, I feel a bit overwhelmed. I don't understand the hue/saturation limits, so I might not "color correctly." But I'm definitely up for the challenge!

You're so funny with your sidebar palette of colors to avoid. Though I know what you mean about getting into a rut with colors. I went for a very long time feeling like anything new I made looked like everything I'd made before. Anywho, I love what you've done here. It's so original and captivating, and it's definitely set to the beat of a different drummer. Kinda reminds me of you and your uniqueness!! :-)

Oooh I love the thought of avoiding certain type of colours. I remember when you complimented me on my palettes....Something about the colours not being too saturated. It was indeed the character of my palettes.

So, the very next day I decided to make palettes that have that saturated character. It helps a lot to make myself aware of things that I'm not used to doing. It's fun!

Hey! That could be an RC on itself. A reverse RC. 'Use this random colour...BUT AVOID combining it with anything yellow' or whatever. haha!
Thank you! =)

I think avoiding is very personal.. and I don't think it's always a good thing: Many famous artist repeat themselves, makes them recognisable, and stands out...

Imagine Rothko saying 'Oh, I've already done squares...'
or Giacometti: 'I'm going to avoid making thin men'. o.O??

But we could try as experiment. - it could even be an extension of the IFPS experiment:

IFSP is a challenge with all the colours set :
like this one - this one is make a palette using:
1 Yellow
2 Blues
2 Purples

One of the problems which appeared very quickly is:
What are the limits of a color? When exactly does red become orange? I tried setting limits but it's so different depending for each combination, I ended setting the limits to the creators personal point of view.

Wanna try IFPS? :)

PS: the experiment I liked the most is 'morphing palettes, idea by Wist. It's quit big to do, but interesting.

Why are these colors to avoid?

Because I have many purple-brown/gold - black - It's generally the first thing that comes out!
I tend to repeat myself... I'd like to do something else.
Thought maybe some who've seen my past palettes muct know this. ^^'

and hey! Thanks for the love! =)

I was just thinking the same thing about myself! I always lean towards contrasting palettes and palettes with lots of dark colors. Not even going to mention all the palettes I've mindlessly toss neon green into. x_x

Wonder if many think something similar...

Maybe, if you created tonnes of similar palettes, there'd be one in the lot which will be 'perfect' (which is a personal point of view of course) - or that you get real good at it... or so I thought.

I think 'instinctive' palettes are the best - better not think too much. I find that very hard to do...

When I said avoid - it also includes all the ones I didn't save! If I did, I'd have maybe 10x more! I thought I didn't have any color preferences before.. o.O

Can I see an example of your 'typical' palette? ... or maybe it's still too early to clearly say?
