The Rose

Love, Oh love, where are you ? I need you! Oh, oh so desperately…

Some say love, it is a river that drowns the tender reed…
“Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it.”
Some say love it is a razor, that leaves your soul to bleed…
“Comfort ye, comfort ye my people saith your God!”
Some say love it is a hunger, and endless aching need…
“I am the bread of life, whosoever eateth of this bread shall never more hunger”
I say love, it is a flower…
“I am the rose of Sharon, I am the lilly of the valley”
and YOU, it’s only seed…
“the seed is the word of God”
Its the heart afraid of breaking, that never learns to dance…
“I am sent… to bind up the broken heart”
It’s the dream, afraid of waking, that never takes a chance…
“trust in the Lord and lean not to thine own understanding”
It’s the one, who won’t be taken, who cannot seem to give…
“Give, and it shall be given unto thee, pressed down and shaken…”
And the soul, afraid of dying, that never learns to live…
“except a corn of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it abideth alone”
When the night, has been too lonely…
“Why art thou cast down oh my soul?”
And the road, has been to long…
“be not weary in well doing”
And you think, that love is only, for the lucky…
“comfort the feeble minded”
and the strong…
“strengthen the weak”
Just remember…
“Hope thou in God”
In the winter, far beneath the bitter snow…
“Is any afflicted? Let him pray.”
Lies the seed…
“cast thy bread upon the waters”
That with the Sun’s love…
“the Sun of righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings”
In the spring…
“weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning”
becomes, the Rose…
“The desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing.”
After everything is said and done, all that really have in this life is-
FAITH……….HOPE……….and LOVE!
And the greatest of these, is LOVE!
