AN INCREDIBLY SPECIAL GIFT from the beautiful people in the "Colourlovers on Spoonflower" group. Please take the time to read the remarkable story of how this "Cancer Healing Quilt" came to be (Collaborative COLOURlovers Project). And to everyone in the group, you have my undying love and gratitude.

Ketisse presented the quilt to me just days before my 6th post-mastectomy surgery.

I love making patterns. It lets me pretend I'm an artist, which I'm not (at least not trained). The real joy, however, comes from seeing others color my designs. And I especially love it when one of those colorings brings its creator lots of loves, faves, and comments.

Next to making patterns, I love gardening and flowers of all kinds. Indeed, flowers are almost all I make here, and so, I've decided I must see the world as flowers. It's sort of like Georgia O'Keefe said:

"Nobody sees a flower, really, it is so small. We haven't time—and to see takes time like to have a friend takes time.

"So I said to myself - I'll paint what I see - what the flower is to me but I'll paint it big and they will be surprised into taking time to look at it—I will make even busy New Yorkers take time to see what I see of flowers."
