Hi, Guys, I haven't been around much for the last few months, so I thought I would post a kal update.
Early November I had knee replacement surgery on my right knee. Early January I had knee replacement surgery on my left knee. February 10th I finally got to go back to work! February 11th I slipped on a wet floor at work. When I fell, I split open my month-old surgical incision, tore my MCL, which in turn pulled a piece of bone off. Very happily for me, I did not damage my "new" knee.
My orthopedic surgeon operated that afternoon, reattaching the MCL, screwing the piece of bone back on, and stapling up my incision. Since then, I have been in an "immobilizer", a brace made of foam, with metal stays, and 7 straps with velcro closures - something like this:

Also on Friday, March 28th, my 50% weight bearing restriction on my left leg was lifted, which means I could quit using my crutch, which looks like this:
Thursday, April 10th, I see the doctor for a re-check. I am hoping he will let me drive again, and give me some idea when I might be able to return to work. Until then, life is pretty much home and physical therapy. I travel to and from physical therapy in a van that looks something like this:
