Before discovering COLOURlovers, I was perfectly happy with the color palette-generating application I had been using for the previous two years or so – until they abruptly changed their UI to something considerably less user-friendly than what I had become accustomed. Judging from the general hue and cry posted on their user forum, many other formerly contented users shared my sentiments as well.
One day I noticed someone had posted a link to COLOURlovers on my previous palette-generating application user forum, so I thought I’d give it a try. I must admit it wasn’t love at first click, but COLOURlover's UI is fairly easy to pick up. The added bonus, of course, was COLOURlover's feature to create pattern templates – which never occurred to me, would become an obsession.
So I’m a COLOURlover now.* I look and learn and experiment. So many talented people here! And so nice! I’ll try to reciprocate any ‘loves’ and ‘faves’ but if I don’t, please don’t draw any conclusions from my oversight.
* Considering myself a 'refugee' from my former color palette-generating site, I chose "expat" for my COLOURlovers screen name. Seemed appropriate under the circumstances – has nothing to do with my country of origin.
