Dear Colour-Loving Friends: Please accept my apologies if I am slow to thank you for loves/faves/etc. I have gotten involved with a wonderful cat-rescue organization called Maine Coon Adoptions, which is an all-volunteer, non-profit group based in Oakland, California. Now my spare time is filled with taking care of foster cats, transporting kitties to their new homes, and working at adoption fairs and fund-raising events. MCA specializes in rescuing Maine Coon cats, Maine Coon-mix cats, and cats that are older or have special needs. Since its founding in 2004, MCA has found loving homes for over 1,800 cats.

On our Maine Coon Adoptions Group page, we post pictures and information about our MCA cats. It's also a place for CL members to create and post patterns and palettes relating to cats. When we asked members to post Cat Fantasies, they have had about their kitties, "Symea" created a lovely palette and shared a very moving comment about her cat, JoJo:

"My little JoJo (not so little anymore!) He was rescued from a horrible Hoarding situation,So afraid and hungry and unhealthy. My fantasy is that he understands English enough for just two sentences.

Ozzy:
Ozzy is a big, gorgeous brown Maine Coon-mix cat. He is a TOTAL love bug. When you walk into the room, he stands up on his hind legs and very gently places his front paws on you, to give you a hug. At the local animal shelter, Ozzy was considered unadoptable. MCA rescued him one day before he was scheduled to be euthanized.

Binx:
Binx is a super cute and sweet brown tabby cat. After a full month at the animal shelter, Binx was totally stressed out by the environment, especially from the non-stop barking of the dogs. The employees were unable to handle Binx, and he was considered unadoptable. Binx was rescued by MCA the day before he was going to be euthanized.

Bug (a blind kitty):
This cutie's name is Bug, and he is as "cute as a bug in a rug"! He loves people, loves to play, and is a super companion. And... Bug is blind. But that doesn't slow him down one bit. He has no problems finding his way around on his own. His foster mom says he is an inspiration. Bug is 1-2 years old and is available for adoption in California from Maine Coon Adoptions. Lizzie (official name “Queen Elizabeth”):

Very sweet, Lizzie was rescued from underneath a house where she had made herself a home. Lizzie loves people and greets new people with a head bump. She weighs only 9 pounds, but she looks larger because of her lovely, fluffy coat. Click here to watch Lizzie’s MCA YouTube Video!

Hannah:

This is my most recent foster cat, “Hannah”. She had been living on the streets for an unknown length of time and was very scared and skittish when she was rescued. Now, her favorite things are being petted, and playing with yarn!
