I am from a small town in North Carolina where everyone pulls over to let an ambulance or a funeral procession pass. We don't have fire flies, we've got lightning bugs. "Y'all" is a proper noun && "ain't" is definitely a word! Chicken is fried && sweet tea is in every house. Shopping carts are "buggies" && wash cloths are "wash rags," if you disrespect your grandma you're gonna get hit with something. You always say Ma'am and Sir. You have crazy relatives, and you aren't ashamed of the southern twang in your voice! We say "down yonder" and "snug as a bug in a rug".
