I'm not new to Colourlovers.com. I've been mixing, and matching palettes since 2009. Sometimes successfully. Other times ....making something quite expressive. You can see my older palettes, under Mangobee.
My palettes are often based off things that inspire me. That could be anything from an old music poster, a Vogue spread, or any fanciful idea that comes to mind. Lately, my inspiration comes from fashion. Usually the latest spoils from retail/boutique stores, versus the typical editorial picks. It could be the scalloped flesh toned blouse from H&M, The nameless palomino pink ballet flats, or the ruffled white boutique dress. Aside from fashion, I also draw inspiration form my personal life. A moment in our lives, is always best shared in a color. A flash of red anger. The choking green of sorrow. Understanding the connection that colors have, with our emotions, I feel I can share a moment in my life, in the most direct way.
My style of color is often muted and dry. While the palettes may not, jump out at first, they have an interesting sophistication, that separates them from other palettes. I try to capture that feel of an ordinary day, when the late afternoon light breaks through the boudoir curtain. Somehow that light overcast of color, brushes over the blue pitcher, and the cream bedspread, perfectly. It's during those few minutes, when your room is bathed in harmony, and you just want it to stay forever.
When I'm not fully immersed on CL, I take a few minutes to do little ordinary things. Things like drawing AK47 Rabbit Girls in gas masks, Adorning a corset for my performance as The Virgin Mary. Sketching fashions (that I wish) designers would create, updating my blog, and coloring my future one rosy shade at a time.
Cheers, to the good! Cheers to the future!

My site, Thebeautifulstory.com, will be up and running in December.
