Purple embodies the characteristics of sensuality, spirituality, creativity, wealth, royalty, nobility, mystery, enlightenment, arrogance, gaudiness, mourning, confusion, pride, delicacy, power, meditation, religion, and ambition. Purple falls under the element of Earth, and was once a European symbol of royalty; today it symbolizes the divine.

INTRODUCING PURPLE/VIOLET
Purple embodies the balance of red's stimulation and blue's calm. This dichotomy can cause unrest or uneasiness unless the undertone is clearly defined, at which point the purple takes on the characteristics of its undertone. With a sense of mystic and royal qualities, purple is a color often well liked by very creative or eccentric types. Violet is the color of purpose.

Royalty and Spirituality: Purple is royalty. A mysterious color, purple
is associated with both nobility and spirituality. The opposites of hot
red and cool blue combine to create this intriguing color.

HOW THE COLOR PURPLE AFFECTS US
Uplifts
Calms the mind and nerves
Offers a sense of spirituality
Encourages creativity

Pantone has selected the color Blue Iris (PANTONE 18-3943) as the 2008 Color of the Year telling us: "Combining the stable and calming aspects of blue with the mystical and spiritual qualities of purple, Blue Iris satisfies the need for reassurance in a complex world, while adding a hint of mystery and excitement."

VIOLET: THE COLOR OF THE CROWN CHAKRA

The Crown Chakra, also known as the Sahasrara, is located at the top of the head. The Crown Chakra is linked to the crown of the head, the nervous system, and the brain, and is representative of pure thought.

This chakra connects one with the infinite consciousness. Opening this chakra will help tap into a deep spiritual understanding. Gemstones that will aid the Crown Chakra include amethyst and clear quartz.

Violet Energy
Violet is a combination of blue and red. Red is a focusing, dynamic and active energy while blue is cooling, calming and expansive. Violet brings a new dynamic to the expansion of blue and the activity of red.

Red brings practicality to the undirected expansiveness of the blue, and allows more creative energy to emerge. For this reason, violet is associated with imagination and inspiration.

This allows the latter varieties to be stored in cold rooms, shipped to fresh markets, and eaten as table grapes. The Concord Grape Association

THE SCENT OF PURPLE
Lavender: The soft scent of fresh-cut Lavender. The scent of Lavender is said to be stress reducing. A wonderful scent for all year round.

Aromatherapy benefits: Balancing, soothing, gently clarifying, normalizing. Scent It.com "Grape" was the original scent of the purple colored Magic Scents Crayons from Binney & Smith Inc., introduced in 1994 with mostly food scents. However, there were numerous reports that children were eating the food-scented crayons, so the food scents were retired and replaced with non-food scents. The scent for the color purple became "lilac."
For perfume-makers, "lavender is a plant which in and of itself has an outstanding olfactory quality." It certainly appears that lavender counts as one of the most ancient elements used in perfumed products. Lavender was immensely popular during the 19th century and introduced men to the world of perfume, heretofore reserved for women, with classic lavender waters such as English Lavender by Atkinson’s and Old English Lavender by Yardley. Visit Les Routes de la Lavende to read more about French lavender and plan your dream trip to Provence.
Nothing can compare to the delicious scent of sweet violets in the spring.

Wisteria: Romance lingers in this mysterious hanging garden. This scent is remarkable. Great for all year, though especially intoxicating during spring and summer. Very romantic. Aromatherapy benefits: Romantic, sensual, calming, relaxing, anchoring. Scent it.com
