If you were designing your ideal creative space (maybe you already have) what colors are in it?

I tend to go back and forth, but I often come back to a pretty dimly lit, deep red room. Sort of old turkish tea room in the candle light. I'm not sure how I would do in that space long term, but right now it looks good in my head.

I would go for this type for my own studio room where i would love to spend time working.

OR
Sophisticated

For a more sophisticated library or study. Love the deep mauves and coffee bean type shades

Czova

I think this color scheme suits well to toilets, or possibly bedroom.

My creative space would be rich blues, teals, and greens with dark wood.

@Czova

I will admit that the bathroom is where some of my best ideas come to me. :)

DarkStar

I tend to favor deep, rich, dark colors for creation and meditation and relaxation, which all go hand-in-hand for motivation because inspiration/productivity comes in fits and bounds for me. "Work, work, work/Play, play, play." However, I can feel pretty comfortable in most work spaces, as long as there is no disorganized clutter (and the space smells good; clean, with candles and incense); it can be filled with objects, as long as everything makes intuitive and logical sense, perhaps especially color combo-wise.

Just ran across a color:

My creative room or simply where I feel calm and full of creativity would be:

This:

What a nice topic! And quite challenging too!

How about having some oriental rugs too? Some shades of deep red with touches of gold or even turquoise...

Love rich tones and mauves for a library! Quite clever!

My ideal place? Something like a John and Yoko living-room (remember Imagine?): white walls, white curtains, a white piano, maybe some rose petals on it, white cushions on the floor and though I dont drink alcohol, a glass of hot brandy to match! ;-P

manekineko

mine's white, I'll post a pic tomorrow or something :)

MasMavi

Mine has sunny yellow walls & lots of bold, bright colors in accessories & wall art. Work surfaces & furniture are white & clean-lined.

I prefer cool, soft colors (like Czova's) in my bedroom where I want to unwind. I fear if I had those in my studio, I would turn into a puddle!

(FYI, my office, where I need to get motivated to nasty tasks, is brilliantly tropical, and I shun typical black metal office accessories in favor of wicker & color.)

Czova

I'm currently thinking of these cyan hues. It gives a bright, clean and comfortable feel.

Czova

Putting cyan-green against grayscale. A slice of cyan makes the difference. The feeling is much more lively.

Ideally, walls of a sort of dingy white with warm reds and browns for the floor. Lots of clutter on the walls, hence the black and purple. That's a bit like my bedroom, except the floors are a light brown carpet.

xOwllight

I make most of my palettes in my living room on my laptop. I'm in a nice cushy armchair surrounded by family and a golden retriever puppy underfoot. The living room is warm with a warn out carpet, dim lights, and a celadon green going on. The green & being surrounded by loved ones really sums up what I would want in an inspiration room.

If I got to the point in my career that called for a studio, I would love to fill it up with color. Anything either beach themed or classic, nautical, & preppy. Seaside or vintage are the ways that I would go!

Practical Glamour

At the moment, my workroom/office/study is utilitarian shades of black, grey and ivory with denim blue carpet. It is tiny and has to fit a lot of stuff (storage, bookcase, jewellery work table, computer desk, filing cabinet), but one day I would love to work in a room with lots of natural light, light wood colours and either of these palettes:

Free_Sunday

I love pink and blue, and find them stimulating for the creative process.
