Interior Design Trends: Purple

I was very disappointed at this post! I normally love the blog posts here, but I happen to be a purple lover, though usually of lighter shades. There must be more than these few items that would be lovely. Try for some lilacs/lavenders!

The towel is very nice. I like those 2 different shades of purple combined.

i love purple,and my room is filled with purple and green,and i think those were realy decorative...but sometimes purple doesnt always fit in with certain roomz........... (^.^)

Violet is historically a color of great reverence and respect. Very expensive to produce, the pigments were often reserved for wealthy monarchs and high ranking religious leaders. The light version, essentially lavender, is also thought of as exclusive as many the expensive buds are required to make soaps, fragrances and the like. The British even have a saying; "To the Purple born." which means one is of a higher standing and allowed to wear violet. It's a great hue and one that more people are comfortable embracing.

it's funny, because we have purple shoes at our store (we're running out, get them now!) and people keep asking, "are these royal blue?" and then they pull them into the light and realise they're royal purple. very cool colour; if my boss didn't like the grey better, she'd take EVERYTHING in purple! >D

my birthstone is amythist! (sp?)

I'm wild about violets, purples, lavenders and lilacs. The walls in my great room are pixie violet!
