You'd think this would be self explanatory but... I added all my obvious spices but as I was scrolling through I wasn't sure about some things. For instance: 1. parsley onion I can buy onion powder or dried parsley in the spice section at the grocery store but what if it's just 'onion' or 'parsley'? 2. sassafras chamomile (teas?) Then if teas are okay how far can you stretch it...such as to iced tea or hot tea? 3. What about 'tenderizer' or 'mushrooms'? 4. nuts? 5. maple? Thanks! -Dena aka Shore ![]() ![]() ![]() _stefan _stefan wrote: 11 Nov, 2007
Good question, suggestions anybody? I'm not sure about onions, nuts and maple, if you flavor with it I would say it's a spice otherwise it's just food. For tea there is a particular group so as long as it's not really spicey tea you could put it there. There are also some food, plant and flower-groups.
Generally a simple rule could be: Everything you would put on your spice rack at home is a spice :) Does that make sence? ![]() ![]() |
