I've got to agree with the recent comments. Great site, but if I can't readily return to my favourites/loves/follows it becomes little more than a frustrating diversion. I mean, I could download them, but then I've got less reason to come back again.

C'mon chaps, how's about a fix for this? Some aspects of the site were never entirely intuitive, but this is a real step backwards. It would be a shame to see such a nice place degenerate through lack of usability.

I agree as well, the new system is horrible. I can understand why I lost my favorites from 5 years ago, but having to 'follow' things then do a search for myself is convoluted. Why can't we have a page where we can see what we've loved and what we've followed? I like browsing recent submissions, but my tastes are very particular and 90% of what I see I don't care for and will never use. Having easy access to favorites again would make this site far more useful for me.

--edit--

wait a sec, I just noticed this in the "Sponsors" section on my account page:

- Customize Your Profile to Show Top, New or Followed Colors, Palettes or Patterns

I guess this means that only people who pay the $20 get easy access to their favorites. I did find, however, that if you go to your account edit page, go to "Follows" then look down at the bottom, there's a chart there where it will list what you've got followed but only text format.. no pallet colors. Because the first one is "Lovers" I didn't realize what it was. Wasn't thought out well in my opinion.

I've spent 15min trying to figure this out and now I'm bored and I probably won't use the site again since I can't easily keep track of the palettes I like. What a shame!

AriaOfSorrow

Well if you are still trying to find out, all you have to do is go to account and go to follows. Then is should give you some tabs and you can see them. But, it doesn't give you a preview so you will have to click till you find that exact one, which is quite boring if you have a bunch of them.

Thoroughly unimpressed. I was going to share my "loved" color palettes with a friend who needs inspiration but it's d*%n near impossible now. So much for the social aspect of this site.

tackyspoons

I'm now clear on the difference between "Love this" and "follow this" but I'm unclear as to where I find a list of all the palettes or patterns I'm "Following". I can see PEOPLE I'm following, but not anything else. :( Is this just not a feature?

tekiegirl

I have to agree with all the comments above. Being able to easily browse through the pallets and colours I like is a key feature of this sort of website and it is missing.

Expecting users to use the search feature to search for pallets, colours, etc, that they are following is ludicrous.
As this problem is old I assume that there are no plans to correct it. I expect there are many users who have gone and found another colour resource because of this.

I never saw version 3 of this site, but it seems version 4 has regressed in some ways.
If, as Lethann says:
I just noticed this in the "Sponsors" section on my account page:

I guess this means that only people who pay the $20 get easy access to their favorites.

then users should be told this as I am sure some would be happy to upgrade to get this feature.

I can only hope that at least one of those in charge is paying attention to this thread, but from the length of it I would say they are not...

UPDATE for version 4:

Note: this is about faves - not loves. As far as I know right now those can't be tracked.

There is no straightforward link or button on Colourlovers at this time but you can do this to find your faves at any time:

- Go to Search Palettes, Search Patterns, or Search Colors at the top.
- Enter your name into the Lover field.
- Tick the Favorites box.
- For best results change the Sort order to Date Added and Desc.
- Start the search to get your results.

For a more permanent solution (if you know how to create a link in HTML):

You could add some links to your profile page as your personal favorites links - if you copy the links below and add them in your profile page. Here are examples with my name and below the actual link to be used - please remember to replace my name with yours in your link:

Faved palettes
http://www.colourlovers.com/palettes/search?sortCol=date&sortBy=desc&publishedBeginDate=12%2F27%2F2004&query=&f=1&userName=Sylke&hex=&hueOptions[0]=&hueOptions[1]=&hueOptions[2]=&x=71&y=22" target="_blank"

Faved patterns
http://www.colourlovers.com/patterns/search?patternDefinitionID=0&sortCol=date&sortBy=desc&publishedBeginDate=12%2F07%2F2007&query=&f=1&userName=Sylke&hex=&hueOptions[0]=&hueOptions[1]=&hueOptions[2]=&x=87&y=18" target="_blank"

Faved colors
http://www.colourlovers.com/colors/search?hsv=0%2C359|0%2C99|0%2C99&sortCol=date&sortBy=desc&publishedBeginDate=12%2F16%2F2004&query=&f=1&userName=Sylke&x=67&y=20" target="_blank"

(Just a little info: I took the URL as generated by the Search page. However, when using links generated by the search page you will always get an 'end date' in there that will stop the links from working beyond the day you have created them on. For my links to work going forward in time, I've removed the end dates.)

Hope this helps!
