Can I use the colors and palettes found on ColourLovers.com on my blog or in my work?
Colors and palettes are licensed under an Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike Creative Commons License. You can use them wherever you like as long as you don't do so for commercial purposes and add a link back to COLOURlovers.com. You can read a simplified version of this license at http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/. Can I use the patterns found on ColourLovers.com on my blog or in my work? Patterns created by ColourLovers.com are also licensed under an Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike Creative Commons License. To see if the pattern you want to use has been made by CL or not, open a pattern page then check description area ("About This Pattern"). If the pattern wasn't created by ColourLovers.com you will see it mentioned at the bottom of the box. Under "This Pattern Originally By:" the name of the creator and a link to their website will be present. In this case, you may not be allowed to use the pattern. Go to the creator's website to find out how to contact them and what their terms of use are. Patterns not created by ColourLovers.com are shown at the end of this comment. But what about my own patterns? Unless you're the person who created the pattern template (or vector file), none of these patterns are yours. You simply color them so the same rules apply. :) I'm still unsure about something. What should I do? Don't hesitate to contact the CL team to know if you may or may not do something. List of patterns which weren't created by CL. It may not be complete as new patterns are added all the time. Patterns created by arsmephisto #63

Does this mean I can use my own pattern that I designed using COLOURlovers.com on my blog, especially if I comment where I made it? ![]() ![]() ![]() GreenMyEy… GreenMyEyes wrote: 1 Month Ago
There's a difference between creating a pattern (i.e., creating the vector paths) and coloring a pattern. If you are the creator of the pattern, you can use it wherever you like. If you want to use a pattern that you colored, you need to look at the bottom of the pattern description, under the heading "This Pattern Originally By:" If it's the name of a fellow color lover, you may use it as you like (as long as you don't use it for commercial use, and attribute its origin). But if the creator is not a CL, you need to contact that person to get permission. Click on the website by the creator's name to find out how to contact them. ![]()
