Have you ever had the feeling that some of your palettes worked better as a series, as if they outlined a phase you went through in your life, or just for artistic purposes? Need a place to put them together, and in the right order? This is the place! Simply add your work to the palettes section, and post the order for your series as badges or images in the conversation area. Wonderful. :)

The Inspiration Description
The titles for the following 12 patterns come from the song "Lilac Wine" which was written (words and music) by James Shelton in 1950. It was performed by a number of singers including Eartha Kitt in 1953. Nina Simone's 1966 version is considered a jazz classic and UK singer Elkie Brooks charted with the song in 1978. However, Jeff Buckley made the song immortal with his heartbreaking version on Grace (1994). Go to the inspiration link to hear that version . . . and have your heart break.
The Lyrics to Lilac Wine
I lost myself on a cool damp night
I Gave myself in that misty light
Was hypnotized by a strange delight
Under a lilac tree
I made wine from the lilac tree
Put my heart in its recipe
It makes me see what I want to see
and be what I want to be
When I think more than I want to think
I do things I never should do
I drink much more than I ought to drink
Because it brings me back you...
Lilac wine is sweet and heady, like my love
Lilac wine, I feel unsteady, like my love
Listen to me... I cannot see clearly
Isn't that she coming to me nearly here?
Lilac wine is sweet and heady, where's my love?
Lilac wine, I feel unsteady, where's my love?
Listen to me, why is everything so hazy?
Isn't that she, or am I just going crazy, dear?
Lilac Wine, I feel unready for my love,
feel unready for my love.
