Why do people create single colours without adding them to a palette? Every now and again I come across a lonely colour and I always feel a strange urge to give it some company. Poor thing was tied to a tree.... Okay, now I'm blabbing, but still... What's WRONG with those people? :) ![]() ![]() ![]() Steph6 Steph6 wrote: 27 Aug, 2007
Sometimes when I create a palette, I'm not satisfied with the finished product, so I may change one of the colors. That previous color then is left without a palette. I have been trying to go back and make palettes with them, but I don't always remember to. So, that's how I come to have lone colors without a palette. ![]() ![]() ![]() reverbe reverbe wrote: 28 Aug, 2007
Yup, that's how most of my colours are orphaned too, although once in awhile, I'll create a colour as a humble gift for someone . . . a colour that would mean something to the recipient. ![]()

Thanks for the nice answers. I find single colours to be uninteresting unless you give 'm some context by adding a second colour. Single colours just don't cut it for me. I need colour-interaction. ![]() ![]() ![]() bunigrl33 bunigrl33 wrote: 3 Jan, 2008
I have some colors that were orphaned after the palette monster ate their palette. ![]()

I make sure that I choose a color, without knowing if someone's chosen it already, I go ahead and feel what it means to me, so if I am the one that has to decide what it is, that it won't be haphazardly named and shoved into a palette or pattern. ![]() ![]() |
