HOW THE FREEZE FRAME PROJECT CAME TO BE

I love watching movies and browsing through video sites and stumbling onto great short-video artworks. I noticed that when I’m watching a movie or a video the colours are a major factor in setting the mood for the story that’s being told. I started to create palettes inspired by short vid’s that have beautiful colours. I just played a vid, clicked on pause, made a palette and posted it on my profile page.

A couple of colour lover friends had shown some interest in this personal project of mine and so I decided to make a group where we can all be involved.

So here it is! The Freeze Frame Project group. Catchy name eh? “Freeze Frame”.

The result should show all kinds of completely different palettes reflecting the general mood of each video. The more palettes, the better a mood we can create. I'm really excited to see it.

# - GENERAL IDEA
Create a palette based on the colours in a particular moment in the video that you like. A new short video (+/- 5 min.) will be presented in a new thread. This will happen every week. If you like one of the video's in an old thread, you can still make a palette and add it to that thread.
The main FFP header tells you what the current video thread is and when the next will be posted.

#1 - HOW TO'S

When you see a moment with colours that you love.

Phew!:

You'll get the hang of it. I promise. =]

1a - The Screenshot
You can choose to post your palette together with a screenshot. You don't have to...This is completely optional. Click through to find out how to take > crop > save > post a screenshot. On both PC (Windows) and on MAC.

1a - Screenshot To Photocopa
You might choose to use PHOTOCOPA to make your FFP palettes. Click here to find out how to upload your saved screenshot onto PHOTOCOPA.

#2 - YOUR OWN THREAD?
Sure you can make your own thread when you feel inspired to. You might for example have a cool theme in mind or maybe you found a beautiful video that might be way longer than the regular 5 min. As long as it's different from the main FFP title you can name it whatever catchy name you have in mind.

#3 - SUGGESTIONS & QUESTIONS?
If you want to submit a video or if you have an idea that you want to suggest to the FFP group, you can submit them in the Suggestion thread by clicking here .

You can also send a message to me and I'll reply as soon as I can.

#4 - USEFUL TOOLS
The Eyedropper add-on allows you to click on a colour in the video so you can copy it and use it in the palette. Click on the links to get the add on's and for more info.

## - EXAMPLE PALETTES
These are some of the original Freeze Frame palettes that used to be on my profile page. The tags are different from what it's supposed to be now. But you'll get the general idea of vid inspired palettes and why it's so handy to have the time stamp mentioned in the title.
