For 5 color palettes. Blend colors 1 to 3, and 3 to 5. Colors 2 and 4 are the blends.

What's this?

These are for 5 color palettes. Start with 3 colors, set in colors 1, 3 and 5. From experience, it works better if at least color 3 has some contrast. Color 2 is a blend of colors 1 and 3. Color 4 is a blend of colors 3 and 5. I'll post some of my Muppet double blends and see what anyone else comes up with. I tried to load this .png as an avatar but COLOURlovers would not take it. It shows up here in HTML code. ??? It's not the exact terminology, but the map shows work on colors 2 and 4.

I think the avatars and pictures only take jpg and gif, since transparency in the png format isn't quite cross-browser compatible. yet. If you save it as a gif the system should take it fine.

When I first saw the graphic I thought of the charts that are drawn out to indicate server connections.

This is the sentence in the group edit:

File must be: jpg, gif, or png.
Image will be resized to 63w X 50h

the .png just wouldn't go in, so the sentence must be suspect. That server connection graph is probably correct. The jumbled colors 2 and 4 fit what this is doing here.

This avoids making two single blends of two colors: Are you ready for the hint to make this easy in a single pass? You still have to have your 3 hex codes in mind. Start with pourpre.com The main site is in French, but this part isn't too hard to figure out. See the line Le chromograf: un ensemble d'outils en ligne pour manipuler la couleur et créer des dégradés, Click on the Le chromograf link. The last line of text is Cliquez ici pour ouvrir le chromograf dans une nouvelle fenêtre. uhhh. Cliquez ici means "click here" so do that. Le chromograf comes up, with circular links at left and a yellow and green background screen on the right. At this point, there is an "English version" link to click. YOU WILL NOT SEE THIS LATER so click it now if you want English rather than French. Now, you can easily read the line gradients of colors (2-3 or 3-4 colors). To the left is a small circle with red/yellow bars. Go instead to the larger circle with red/yellow bars farther to the left. That's the link to the gradient generator. Now at top is the linear gradient generator ... From # Via # To # Enter color #1 hex in From Enter color #3 hex in Via (that's the trick to use color #3) Enter color #5 hex in To He uses the # in there also with the 6 hex characters. It has to be there or it nulls it out to 000000. Don't hit OK yet. At the bottom of the box at left, change grid 15 to grid 5. NOW hit the OK at the top. The hex for the three entry points is listed as a confirmation. You are looking at your 5 color squares listed vertically. Click on each intermediate color, and the hex will be visible on the left on the gray line below the black background. THERE IT IS. You have the 5 hex colors for the palette. You can repeat and play with it by changing hex codes or gradients and hitting OK again. I have also used this to make a gradient of 15, to get 3 palettes of 5 for a series. You can also set one or more hex codes the same, if you want. -------------- The 2D gradient below makes a triangle with the 3 colors at points, or via for the 4th to make a square with 4 different color corners....
