Group devoted to Complex pattern by x_1013_x
What it means to us, showcasing and picking our favourites. For me it was like discovering a brand new island. Lovely experience. The pattern's secrets are inside, ways to use it and categories for you to post your patterns in. The complex pattern is by hard the hardest pattern to master. It has so many options to it. It's just impossible to find the perfect colour scheme. So our goal is to master it. PLEASE VIEW RULES BEFORE POSTING ANYTHING! They are inside!! ![]() October~Favourites -- Activity #2 Opposites Work ![]() ![]() Skram1 Skram1 wrote: 14 Oct, 2008
Opposites Work! October Activity #2 Okay, so Story time went well although it has slowed, so I have to think of a new activity, and I hope I got it this time. Opposites work is to show that if you use the opposite of a colour, it can still work. The COPASO has an opposite choice I believe so you could use that for your palettes. The objective is to create the nicest opposite palette or pattern and at the end of the month we will have a vote that last for 7 (seven) days! The winner of the palette side and the pattern side will be honoured with a congratulatory gift, an honourable pattern or palette devoted to their success. I couldn't think of anything better that was free sorry :( So everybody GOOD LUCK! I hope to see some amazing Opposites and and work! ![]()

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_wheel You say opposites, which opposites do you mean? I see someone used red/cyan. But red/green is valid as well, correct? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:RYB_color_circle_1904.png http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:RGV_color_wheel_1908.png ![]() ![]() ![]() consonant consonant wrote: 15 Oct, 2008

Can everyone who posted their wonderful entries please move them to the allocated conversations, you should find them easily in the main conversation list. You don't have too but it just saves me a LOT of time ![]() ![]() ![]() Skram1 Skram1 wrote: 15 Oct, 2008

![]() One of the things I enjoy about opposites (in this case a contrasting triad) is that you can achieve interesting "shadow" colors when you place them next to eachother. What I find fascinating about this pattern is that the hot aqua color looks blue when set against the purple yet takes on much more green against the pink and grays. Look at this pattern closely and let me know if you see this too. ![]() Another from the same palette ![]() ![]()
