STORY TIME
New Feature Starting October.

Well, we are kicking October of witha brand new activity for us all, it's called Story time. What we do is We start a story with a palette or pattern, and we build on it. Examples could be a palette called: "The lone Wolf", another member could then create a palette saying: "Went on a stroll" So please, if anyone wants to start us off, you may post a the palette or pattern HERE

Once upon a time there was a Zebra named Zeus. He was a very self conscious zebra because he was not like the other Zebras he knew. His stripes were broad and straight and static and very plain...not jagged and interesting like all the other Zebras.


One day Zeus was sitting alone under a giant Nut Tree feeling very sorry for himself when up walked a tall and beautiful Giraffe named Geri. SHe was the most lovely GIraffe in all the land.

They began a swift talk, they found out much about eachother. It was a very deep and rich conversation.



Zues and Geri were best friends already, but then...

Alas, they were so immeresed in their own bantar that Zeus tripped over a stone and sprained his ankle. He could no longer walk so Geri had to carry him. They were searching for the nearest wild life refuge. They could be heard singing, "He ain't heavy, he's my brother"......

Zeus was grateful to Geri for carrying him while searching for the clinic...he was also grateful that their singing voices were bearable for he knows there is nothing worse than a tone-deaf singing animal. Unfortunately Zeus was a little embarrassed that Geri had to carry him:


Zeus thought that Geri was so kind to be there to aid him in his time of trouble:


While they were making their trek in search of the nearest clinic...they happened upon a very friendly Elephant...his name was Elmer...Elmer had the most beautiful blue eyes they had ever seen. They were mesmerized by Elmer's eye's (little did they know he had just been fitted for colored contacts the week before)! Yes...Elmer was friendly...but he was very vain!

Zeus shows his true colours and Geri is so lovely...

SO as they continued their search they discovered the most beautiful enchanted gardens they had ever seen with electrifying butterflies everywhere, they gazed in wonder...

Beyond the garden, they discovered a house with rooms. Rooms with wonderous closets! There were formal gowns, and suits as well.




















A quietly cheerful chambermaid told them that as welcome guests, they could choose any ensemble they would like to have for a gift, and wear to the Ball that night.


Right away, Elmer was entranced by the beautiful blue silks of a suit. "They match my eyes!" he exclaimed happily.




Geri pointed at a suit she thought Zeus might like.





But after trying it on, they both agreed he'd look better in a dark velvet suit.



After trying on a very bold dress, and a beautiful green dress, Geri decided to wear a blue and lavender gown, because she said "It's an enchanted evening, and these colors are right for such an evening!"







Just before closing the closet, Geri's eyes were caught by a lovely pair of socks.



"Oh, if only there were a sash in those colors!" she sighed. The helpful maid showed her there was. "Oh, and it has turquoise too, it's perfect!" Geri said as she tied it around her waist.

Elmer’s eyes filled with tears. He was allergic to the dust in the fabulous old closets and needed to sneeze. He was terrified of losing his lenses so they went outside for cool summer cocktails by the lake.

Walking through the lush and scented foliage Zeus, Elmer and Geri were mesmerised by the quiet beauty of the gardens which shimmered in the light of hundreds of tiny glass lanterns hanging in the trees.

Just before they reached the lake they came across a sequined man who turned and stared at them with his flawless diamond eyes…

At that very moment, Elmer experienced a most explosive sneeze !, His contact lens' shot from his eyes like a BB off a box car!, Everyone turned and looked at poor dashing Elmer !, His vision impaired he could barely see his reflection in the twinkling lake , Never to despair Zeus and Geri stood wide eyed when the sequined man spoke in an exotic accent...

Elmer was mortified that he had let out such an explosive sneeze! He was afraid that maybe he had blown everybody away and up and out of the garden!

"Oh my Gosh"...cried Elmer. "Are we still in the garden?"


"Butterflies? Are you still here?!"


"Zeus Is that you?!"



"Geri...is that you?"



"Oh my!" Elmer cried aloud..."I can't see a thing without my contacts! Whatever am I to do?" Then suddenly...out of nowhere...Elmer heard a faint tinkling noise in the distance and it grew louder and louder as it neared.

"What's this? What is this noise I hear? Are you here to help me...please help me for I cannot see where my friends went!"

Then a reassuring voice said "Don't worry Elmer...I am here to help you. The sequined man told me (in his wonderful accent) that you were distressed and I am here for you (and to get a look at the sequined man as well)."

"I am your Fairy Modmother."

Elmer's brow knitted with confusion and concern was consoled slightly by the gentle voice, he was still a bit frightend as his things did not look to clear... He had not to fear for long, as the Fairy Modmother had in her delicate hand ...
