Let's Share Tips
I am very spontaneous, and when I visit a lovers page, I use the colors that appear "randomly"! On the right side of a COLOURLovers page you will see a grid of just "Color Badges".
(When I visit, sometimes what appears at that moment is inspiration enough for me.)
I then open Copaso in a New Window - really the best way, for me, so I can separate the windows by putting them side-by-side so I can see the lovers page at the same time. I then open each color badge in its own tab, (right click your mouse - and select "Open in New Tab" or "Open in New Window" - either will work). What matters is getting the code from the TAB itself! Type the code in Copaso - the color automatically (like "magically") appears.
If I happen to want different choices, I refresh the lovers page and new colors pop up!
As a starter, this is how I do things:
Searching Colors
The main tool is of course COPASO.
To search a specific lover's color, click the color tab and enter the Lover's name.
>>> See COPASO video tutorial at 05:50
From the search results:
To get information, color name and HEX value: select the color and click on the 'i'
To add the color directly to the scratchpad, select and click on the '+' sign
Other ways To Search
I also use the basic color searchengine and excellent Cuttlefish Palette Browser (with it's Bookmarklet of course)
To import a color into COPASO, copy the HEX code by the color name into COPASO's color picker (six characters preceded by a hash - eg: #FF6633)
Managing / Finding the Right Name
I made a palette combining Karnoug's colors AND special colour names where all color reflect a very sad or very happy feeling:
Using the search tools above, I just dumped all the colors I may use - in my case, those named with emotions - in COPASO's scratchpad so I can easily try variations:>>> Scratch Pad: See COPASO video tutorial at 02:20
At last, if you really need a specific name and you're ready to wait, you could use their RSS feed with a RSS filter to track a specific keyword...
See KEEP TRACK OF PALETTES, PATTERNS AND COLORS
In The Future: Tags
Some lovers have started adding tags to their palettes which does make searching colors easier (eg: color palette , search result for tag 'Flashy')
For now only the creator can add tags when editing the palette but I think that in the future everybody can click in the sidebar to add tags. There's a "TAGS//Add a Tag +" for now it says "Coming very soon :-)"
So this is how I generally create 1 lover palettes, what about you?

GREAT INFO
THE SPONTANEOUS METHODI'd love it to happen more often!
I am very spontaneous, and when I visit a lovers page, I use the colors that appear "randomly"! On the right side of a COLOURLovers page you will see a grid of just "Color Badges".
I think spontaneous creations are in fact complicatedly related to subconsciousness and complexly complicated stuff...
Then I go through page by page to find colors to match my palette. Usually I can't find really close matches so a lot of times the end result is very different than what I started with! That is the fun part for me. I love browsing page after page of color. I'd fave them all if it didn't annoy people.
I usually make a palette with colors and style that I think they'd like. I try to channel the lover and it's hard! I'm not very intuitive or even grasp the obvious sometimes.

I think that's lovely! I sometimes try that too - like I did for you, visiting your website and palettes, through you say what you like on your page. =)
I think both are good, it can also be nice to make someone try a new style.
I go to the name index and choose a random name
browse that lover's colors and choose 1 central color.
Just check the names of some of these:
There are great ones here: Groups / Colors with Great Names! Great place to start! :D
Sure! It's harder!
I'd like to share this 1LP palette Ketisse made - to show that you can - even with very few colors!

It was Ailema Mirg who currently has 17 colors but when I made the palette, there were only 9. (actually when I started there were only 8 but while I was working, a 9th one popped up).
8 colors didn't put her off!
HOW TO MAKE A 1LOVER PALETTE?
Let's share our tips! =)
1 ) USE COLOUR SEARCH with the name of the lover's colours you are searching (example) -
2) USE COPASO'S SEARCH OPTION
