CL, has stopped selling the seamless-studio software since i have been on the site. So now only the ones who already have it, have it. I am not sure if any one got to buy it since February, this might be a misunderstanding on Hopefull's part. I don't think anyone has gotten it since February and possibly even before that. The request should be regarding starting the sale of the software again.
I stopped making templates myself for this reason, because the site version and the trial version both had error in transferring the template, i thought that maybe this was to encourage people to buy the Software, but the software is not being sold... so you see, it is sort of annoying.
If anyone has got it after February, there is a pirated copy of the software available on the net, complete with keygen, I am not accusing anyone, but maybe that is how they got it? I could have downloaded that, i will admit that it was tempting as i really had some great ideas swimming around for templates, but I don't go for that, not even for the sake of creativity, so I can clearly relate to Hopefull's frustration. It is a mistake to think there is a bias going around... I think it is just bad timing on our part Hopefull.

The pirate version of seamless studio sounds like the perfect solution to this problem. If this site wants to keep pattern making alive in the future and doesn't want to have to keep up with the maintenance involved in selling the software, then everybody is happy.

Besides, if you make a good contribution to this place through Seamless Studio, then you've given something more valuable than $29.

I guess calling it the "Elite Few" wasn't quite accurate but that is what it feels like. The fact that it is being successfully used but I am not permitted to use it means it IS being deliberately withheld from me. Semantics aside , i shall go the pirate route as its the only option i have.

Sorry if I sound petulant **deep breath** I just had my template freeze again .

Don't get mad! Get your pirate outfit on and go plunder yourself a copy of Seamless!

But anyway I think being petulant is being very restrained when making a pattern. I once damaged my keyboard because I got so angry with it.

Agree with petunia. There is no one who had never felt frustration in Seamless!
Whether SL or SS, I think there are three points to prevent computer from freezing.
"one click" "waiting" "processing noise"

On the way of template work in SS or SL, if your computer starts to make processing noise, don't click until the noise stops.
The noise means " you can't add on anymore".

And also I think we should think about the process of such a situation.
In my case, some months ago, a person played with SS in my PC about two hours during my absence(OMG!!!), SS stopped suddenly.(!!!)
He is expert at computer maintenance, but he couldn't restore my SS to the original condition. When I heard it, no one could start my SS again(OMG!!!). I was surprised and cried!!! ;-(
And then, as a desperate resort, he made another user side in my PC, re-installed SS with my licence key into the new user side and moved every files (includes every software ) from old to new.
Now I'm able to use my SS again but he said that this method is not suit everyone, SS has serious issues, it's too buggy to republish. He thinks the bugs gives an evil influence to registry, no one can repair the fault at present, if someone's unlucky, it will be broken not only SS, but also computer system. I think so too from my experience. And I'm really afraid of next accident...
Hope CL team fix bugs as soon as possible for everyone who wants to make templates with SS.

OMG!!!
That explains the reason they are not responding, they don't want to be sued. It also explains why they dont want to give the product out also. Therefore the only way to get it will be the Pirate option as they are then not liable if it screws the PC.

I tried this link, it comes with some seriously dodgy stuff so read the screen carefully before clicking anything.
It didnt appear to work. it seemed to but I cant find the downloaded software and using the SS icon brings up the same "trial has expired" window.

Yeah, the complete lack of response/support regarding SS really has me wondering what's going on behind the scenes. I too think that Seamless, in all of its insanely bug-filled glory, should still be available to purchase. Perhaps on a discounted price/per request only/buy at your own risk type of deal?

Well, seems to me that Colourlovers hasn't got any software devs. It's not just that Seamless isn't working for a lot of people, there are many enhancements it could have that would improve it in a major way. For instance, it has only the one fixed mirror of symmetry (an app I have been playing with so much lately has 16). Not only that, but take the pattern making interface. Wouldn't you like to choose your patterns through keyword within the maker, and not have to work around with html? What about a button to change the order of colors for a mobile device? I think all the site development here was done up front, and is now just maintained. When was the last time you heard of a new feature for the site? I don't think they are planning any... therefore I speculate the site isn't making much money. And no money to pay devs. I can tell you that if more new people aren't allowed to make enhanced templates, they are going to seek elsewhere for their design entertainment...heck, even oekaki boards update versions periodically. And that is the slope of attrition and starvation for our community .

YES! This is how I access the site during the week and this problem has meant I've ended up making most of my palettes with the colours running light to dark to try to match the most commonly used template shading configurations. I hate being practical around colour!

I also hate to think what interesting discoveries and combinations I miss because of this.

Btw - if anyone uses ipad etc and has any helpful tricks about getting around the problems associated with this and other general issues I would love to hear it.

The main focus of the admin is Creative Market (which makes money) unfortunately Nothing is going to be done about Seamless--

Unfortunately it doesn't look like Seamless Studio will be updated in the near future. It was a big attempt for us to build pattern design software that would be easy for anybody to use and still be able to create beautiful creations. We wanted people on Mac & PC to be able to use it, but the platform we chose to enable that has turned out to be a black box for us in terms of maintaining and improving the app. We're considering a few ways to find life for Seamless Studio and to enable more people to design patterns... but it won't likely be in the form of us building & selling the app
