Color Tools and Resources

I do not know if it would be appropriate for this site but I have many nice color tools. I would be willing to share their sources with others.

In return, I am always looking for new tools---software, links, color selectors, hardware, etc. myself.

Me again. I had time to play with the site you recommended again. Thanks so much! With it and Color Impact I can tweak and simulate all kinds of things and end up with a can of tinted paint. I can go the other direction as well and end up with a flat, not process, Pantone ink or fabric dye color as well.

Still searching for a Paris Thread convertor so I can get to embroidery colors for logo wear and so forth.

Found this over the weekend which may be of interest to interior designers. It is a fabric selector that takes a screen color and kicks back sources and patterns.

Fabric Matcher

I should also mention "Huey" in this forum. I bought "Huey Pro" for $79 or so on Amazon. Software stores have the thing too. Reviews are generally good. There are other monitor calibrators out there but this one is working great for me! I use it with the laptop for client presentations and for tweaking projectors for talks. Huey reads the ambient room light intensity and temperature/color and tweaks the monitor/projector to match it. Obviously you have to start off with a neutral calibrated monitor to start with or it wacks things but anyone in design and color does that automatically. Sorry, I do not have the URL handy but either go to Amazon, Pantone, etc. or just do a search for Huey.

JPC, Here is a little something I did to show FabricMatcher's abilities: http://www.colourlovers.com/forums/1,1,306/Matching_Fabric_Colors

Thanks. As mentioned. I need something that can get me to Paris or other standard thread colors for embroidery from a pixel.

Between finding out about easyrgb and the fabric matching website it will be a lot easier to create pallets. I already have Tiger Color and find it is very good too. Thank you for sharing this information.

Seeing how any thread is going to be made up of at least hundreds of colors, I don't see how any software could pick out specific tones better than a knowledgeable person w/ photoshop or similar

This is a neat secondary tool to ColourLovers. I can create the palette here, then throw my hex numbers into the Stripe Generator with a few options; I like the "Create a Tartan With These Colours" option. It's fun anyway.

I totally love SynthAxis and wish it was a downloadable program.

And I just came across this GPeters/Yahoo color selector. You give it a word (or name or phrase) and it returns colors picked from the first five images that answered the search.

This is one of my favourite!
And you can use your downloaded .cs file in the Colour Schemer Studio version!
But I guess most of you will quite know this!
