Seamless Lite Won't Save Pattern

I just spent a solid two hours working on a pattern template in Seamless Lite, positioning and re-positioning 100+ shapes, and now it says "To upload, you must use more than one color in your pattern." I've done that — all five colors, in fact. ;(

I'm using Safari 5.4.1 for my browser under OS X version 10.6.8. This isn't the first time I created a template but I never had trouble with the others.

Unfortunately, no … it's gone.

First I tried changing the colour of some of my shapes. No change.
Then I tried adding an extra shape that wouldn't change my pattern too much. No luck.
Then I tried deleting a shape. Still no change.
Then I tried adding a shape again … and to my horror that "worked". I say "to my horror" because it succeeded in getting the template to save — as a template containing only the last shape that I added. (sob!) All my work was lost, and no going back.

But if I ever run into trouble again, I'll take a screen shot.
