COPASO losing information

I edited the description for one of the palettes I made in COPASO (it had been called "Winter Rising"). I saved it (overwrite) and published it (overwrite). When I clicked the link from COPASO to see the palette's page, the following was gone: title (changed to "No Name"), description, inspiration link, inspiration description, and tags. The inspiration image and widths were still there.
Since COPASO was still open, I copied all of the information for the palette into notepad and closed COPASO. I then reopened COPASO, reopened the palette (with its name missing and the information gone upon reopening it), pasted the information, saved (overwrite), and published (overwrite) to see if the information would come back. None of it did. But the inspiration image and widths stuck around. I use Firefox 2.0.0.14 and run Windows XP. ![]() ![]() ![]() GlueStudi… GlueStudio wrote: 2 Months Ago

Today (5th of May) I've created 5 palettes in COPASO. 2 are OK (the ones without description and images) 3 was "no name" palettes (now changed out of COPASO) and descriptions, inspirations and images inserted wasn't visible. I faced similiar issues today!
Everytime, I tried to write something in the "Inspiration" input box of COPASO and published the palette, I lost all the title (became No Name), description and inspiration information. As soon as I removed the inspiration text and published it again - all the information (except inspiration) came back! I used IE7 and Vista. ![]() ![]() ![]() CYand3Lab… CYand3Labs wrote: 2 Months Ago
Ditto all day yesterday (Sunday 05/04) on WinXP Home & Firefox2.0.0.11.
Instead of overwriting my palette, COPASO/palette monster devoured my inspiration & link, description, and even my palette name (everything except the colors, and it changed one color's hex# by 1 digit) and repeatedly overwrote the palette with one titled "No Name". I finally gave up and just edited the No Name palette with the standard Color Picker, sans widths. Hmm, I'll have to remember that palette name the next time I can't think of one ;-) P.S. later (totally unrelated to this thread but interesting nevertheless): Just did a search on palettes named "No Name". Apparently many of us are afflicted by the 'palette name creative-block" monster, with or without the COPASO one. ![]() ![]() ![]() Unnatural… Unnatural Element wrote: 2 Months Ago

Alrighty, folks ... here we are again ... me saying I fixed it; you wanting to hit me over the head with blunt object .....
Any who, I've spent the past 4 hours tinkering with COPASO ... trying new ways to make sure what you type into form fields [whether it be special characters like & + = " ' ? / %, or utf-8 characters like ο εγκέφαλός μου είναι τηγανισμένος!] is exactly what shows up once you submit it is like voodoo whilst using Ajax ... so yeah, once again I'm 99.9% sure things are fixed. Thanks for you patience and help finding bugs! ![]() ![]() ![]() Lost Tsal… Lost Tsalagi wrote: 2 Months Ago

I just saved a palette and two colors with a description without issues. Mine are new without images or links. Just descriptions. Thanks ![]() ![]() ![]() anti-hero… anti-heroine wrote: 2 Months Ago

Hey PureForm, sorry! I still have problems with copaso, dunno why.
I made a palette (see attached) and couldn't publish it with my description in the right field. For some reason I was allowed to do it but without any text, so I had to paste the text in a comment.
Could this be due to any special charachters or is kinda' error? Thaaaaaaanks dear!! Hugs, Tirzah (tvr) ![]()

Explorer for windows vista (aaaargggghhh) and Safari 3.1.1 with OSX in Mac. Both same problem.
Description of the problem is same as described by Gluestudio some days ago. "no name" palettes (now changed out of COPASO) and descriptions, inspirations and images inserted wasn't visible. ![]() ![]() ![]() jimjim421 jimjim421 wrote: 2 Months Ago
I've had similar problems, but have always been able to fix them by re-entering info (luckily). one thing i have not been able to do with COPASO is extract colors from inspration pics......i can only get black!
anyone know what's up with that? am i doing something wrong??? can anyone help me? ![]() ![]() ![]() PureForm PureForm wrote: 2 Months Ago

Hi there,
I also have problems with text in either Inspiration or Description. If my description is too long, it won't publish or save it. If I enter a small amount of text it seems to work but after a certain point, it won't save and I get an error message in the status bar at the bottom of the screen. Not using any special characters. I'm running XP and using IE. I've had this problem consistently with COPASO. )-: Also, I created a palette last week and when I went back to look at it, the colour had changed by one hex value. I saved and overwrote about 3 times and now it seems to be ok, but I thought I'd let you know. (: Thanks! ~lara ![]() ![]() ![]() supine supine wrote: 1 Week Ago
Not sure if there is a better thread for this, but it's definitely a problem of lost data. Sometimes when I create and publish a palette with COPASO, then open it up in COPASO to edit it, the line widths are wrong. They aren't the standard 20%, but fairly arbitrary line widths that I doubt I ever saved as and know I never published. I know I've had this problem more than once on
I'm using Firefox 3 and Windows XP. I'm not getting any Java errors. ![]()

I, too, had a problem with COPASO losing a color yesterday. I'd been working on a five color palette and had saved the colors in the swatch area. Then I bounced out (opened a new tab in Firefox) to another site to check something, and when I came back to COPASO only four colors were showing. And, although I had all of my color swatches, I couldn't figure out how to tell COPASO that I wanted to add a fifth color.
Is there a way to to tell COPASO that you want another color in a palette? It didn't really cause me a problem this time, because I still had the colors in PhotoShop, so I could exit, reenter, and recreate. But next time I might not be so lucky. I saved the palette with the missing color, (without publishing it) in case that might help you. It's called Fifth Color Missing? I use Firefox 2.0.0.15 on a Windows XP machine. BTW, I've never had this problem before, although I often have opened a new tab while in COPASO. ![]() ![]() |
