Hi
Unfortunately, the patterns here are not down loadable as vector files. All you can do is download them as a palette file of the colours in the pattern (which is probably what you did). If all went right, you should see the colours in the swatches palette. You can download a bitmap "pattern tile" if you click on the "download this pattern" link on the right of the page. Or if you right click (or ctrl click on a mac) on the pattern and choose "view background image". Then you can save that image to your computer. Or you can download the pattern as a desktop by clicking on one of the "get this pattern image" options just above the "download this pattern" link. ![]()

The patterns are not downloadable as illustrator files. You are only downloading the colours that went into making up the pattern. Thats why it says " download palette" and not "download pattern" in those little links next to the pattern preview. :)
The link that does say "download pattern" on the right, only downloads a raster version - a pattern tile. You could probably turn this into a vector file that you can edit in illustrator using live trace, but I dont think you would get the results you are after... I think the patterns are not downloadable as vector files for a reason - probably something to do with copyright? I can only guess. ![]() ![]() ![]() 3k- 3k- wrote: 21 Apr, 2008
you can use inkscape - a free vector graphics software - to trace bitmaps and thus create vector images from them. i'm sure illustrator would also do this as that's a more advanced app, but i'm not an expert as i use only free apps when possible... d;D ![]() ![]() |
