Have you tried making groups maybe? I've noticed it does seem slower on intricate patterns if I don't have groups.

I did use groups. This pattern has 18 groups of 33 objects each. I finally finished it and uploaded it. It looks quite different (in a better way) than it did on my screen in SS.

It probably took 6 hours to create because I had to keep walking away while I waited for it to complete a task.

@Tiandu: The vector size is no longer capped. :) If you try to import a shape larger than 150kb, it'll just show a dialog asking you if you're sure you want to import it.

@bunigrl33: Once you have very many shapes on the canvas, Seamless is likely to get pretty sluggish, unfortunately. In the future I plan on working on some optimizations to make it not quite so bad, but for right now, I'd try to avoid having hundreds of shapes in your pattern.

Thanks for fixing the layering issue. I really need to get back to playing around.
One really random comment: I don't feel like I can zoom in nearly as much as I'd like. I wind up doing a lot of squinting on some patterns.

Ok, so I just downloaded the most recent version of Seamless, and I've found something amiss. First of all, I am going to point to this pattern of mine. It didn't upload to CL fully correct. Those circles are supposed to have 3 rings. I uploaded the jpg into the descrption of the pattern, which shows some of what I see when the pattern is open in seamless. This most recent pattern is a variation on that. I will e-mail it to you so you can see what I mean. (It still needs tweaking at the center, but I've lost heart to finish it because the test uploads aren't right.)



Please, please tell me this is fixable? =(

Thank you! I noticed something bizarre that had escaped me. There are extra groups in one of my main group folders! (There are supposed to be 4 circles with 3 rings.) Buh?!! I have noticed that sometimes Seamless selects more than one thing and copies it (too) before I notice (when I only want to copy one shape, or folder) though, so I bet that is what happened. That'll need fixing too. *wry* (<--I meant that I needed to delete the extraneous folders from my project...)

Edit: Even weirder, the folders were empty! O_O

hello... my 15 day trail is almost to an end and I want to purchase, but I am concerned about the freezing up issue. I have not imported any shapes. I am just making a simple flower with about 12 petals and I use the line tool to outline the shapes. I've been working on this for three hours and it just keeps freezing up...I love the tool, but the freezing part is annoying...I also experience this with the online tool as well...

@aatypical What operating system and how much memory do you have on your computer? Not sure why it would be freezing with such a simple shape.

i've tried this on three different computers I have two lap tops and a desktop with various memory from 2G - 650G (i think thats right). Lap tops are vista desktop is xp. The thing is that I have experienced this on each computer ..sometimes with even simpler shapes. This one is the farthest I have gone due to available free time and also on the machine with the least memory. I'd love to make my own fabrics but I have little experience with illustrator...so this would be a great option, but the freezing up leaves me a little leery to purchase...

I will try to be of some help.. I only can say how I start in SS when I want to change the format and work with colours.

>First of all I choose to activate"Custom Colours".. not "CL Template.
>Than I change the standard format in something like 400x400.
>I choose my shapes and colour them

When I am finished I export the pattern in JPG or PGN to a map..

When I open the picture in a program like AWeaver or PS.. it is the right (choosen) format and the right colouring.

Rebooting does no good at all? =( Does Seamless Studio/Adobe need patching? Maybe it's an Adobe glitch? I hope you get it sorted soon! *comfort*

Oh, hey! I just opened Seamless Studio, and found my version is 1.1.2?! But, the ability to check for updates is nowhere to be found now?! Huh? *head tilt* I know you could do so before, to manually update Adobe Air.

I do not know exactly where the message is for updating.. Earlier on I got a mail about this....when there was a new update.

And so there i a newer version than I have. Thank you for this message.

Apart from that... functions Adobe Air updating..they warn when opening S Studio if there is a new update..

There are more programs wich use Adobe Air.. they give that notification too when opening the progam.

*nod* I own the Complete National Geographic, which uses Adobe Air, and have had it update when bringing up the program. =) I am almost certain there was once an option to update SS on one of the drop down menus though...

Those are the versions I have too. Let me try and see if I can replicate the bug. Will post if so, of course...
