Themeleon : Twitter Profile Theme Designer

We'll be putting up a formal announcement of this later today... but just getting it out early for you folks to play around with. if you notice any bugs let me know.

Also, let us know what you think. Love / Not So Much Love... etc.

I've only had a little time to play with this, but from what I can tell, this is awesome! It's really convenient :D

As with any program, it took me a few minutes to realize how to apply certain things to certain places.

The only thing I can critique is the background options. Maybe I'm not seeing it, but is there an option to have a solid background? Sometimes the colors look great without a patterned background. (I managed to make this work for a second by clicking "apply palette colors above," but since then it hasn't worked).

Cool feature! Thanks Darius!

Good catch! Looks like we forgot to upload that feature when we were bug fixing things before launching. You should be able to clear the pattern our to have a solid color BG. We'll fix this when Chris gets off his flight.

Also, the blog post has a good guide to things... but yeah, good to know it's intuitive enough just to click around and play with.

oh, I noticed a little glitch. When you select "my top" palettes at the bottom, it shows most recent
palettes. Just FYI!

This is fun!

GreenMyEyes

Looks like fun -- I often have my favorite pattern as BG on Twitter, and this'll make that process a breeze.

But at first I misunderstood the wording on your buttons. After selecting a palette and having its colors appear in the color boxes, I expected pressing apply pattern colors below would take the colors below and apply them to the pattern. It's just a wording problem, which might confuse others as well.

Maybe reverse the actions of the two buttons and use ☟apply palette colors below to pattern and ☝apply pattern colors above to palette colors below. That makes for rather long labels on the buttons, which sure isn't great, but maybe you guys can come up with something clearer and shorter.

At any rate, kudos!

@Green... Totally. We had a really hard time finding the right words for those buttons. They make sense if you click them... you'll figure it out, but finding words that fit is hard. Thanks for the suggestions... We need more.

GreenMyEyes

I love messin' with words. Maybe these:

apply below colors above
apply above colors below

I've also noted that, when viewing Palettes, My Top, Favorite Top, and Favorite New, are displayed in the wrong order -- i.e., My Top shows my lowest-rated palettes, not highest, etc. However, My New is in the right order -- go figure. Similar problem with Patterns -- My Top and Favorites New are wrong, the other two are OK.

BTW, Themeleon is the perfect name.

You are awesome lucky, GreenMyEyes ! :)

One more suggestion, Dariusand Team: the background for Themeleon is one of the plaid patterns, in black and white. But, on this specific pattern, the diagonal lines cause the pattern to flicker when scrolling through the page -- very distracting. This may have to do with the refresh rate, and so may not happen on all monitors, but I'm sure many monitors do have this same problem.

I looked at several of the plaid pattern -- some have the problem, some don't. But I think you might want to choose one of the other plaids (or a different pattern) for your background.

Thanks Green. We noticed that today too. We'll throw another one up as the default.

Is Chris still on his flight, I cannot for the life of me get a solid colour?

Hmm. Try the Photo tab instead of Pattern and click the do not use an image button.

Does that work?

nighthawk327

This is pretty cool!! Made a nice theme based off of my "Otoño II" palette and "midday mambo" pattern (originally by intothemorning).

I love how well the title fits the palette. |)
For some reason, it just feels like remembering my early childhood; kinda magical, exciting, maybe a little abstract since you're still learning so much and don't necessarily understand. It's beautiful & soothing, but still bright and exciting. VERY WELL DONE.
VERY spiffy! ^^
