I should have had something like this up for a while as we continue adding little things to the site in an effort to make it better and to enhance the amount of colour loving that can be accomplished. So here is my attempt at a list of updates you may or may not have noticed.
25 November, 2006 The new version of the site, COLOURlovers Coup.0 is up and live! New Features to Note: Scores and Rank. The scores and rank are reset the first of the month so as to give a more accurate current popularity of a color or palette. Ranks are recalculated once a night. 6 December, 2006 RSS Feeds - We added the RSS feeds for the main site and also for individual lovers palettes & colours. 13 December, 2006 Jobs for Designers, Artists, and Developers with instant search tool In partnership with Krop jobs we're sharing the love of creativity and providing a listing service for the best creative jobs out there. Take a look through and find something that strikes your fancy. New jobs are being added daily, so keep your eyes on www.COLOURlovers.com/jobs. You can easily find the jobs section in the main site menu. 16 December, 2006 Wallpapers - Look in the Info area for all colours and palettes for links to several wallpaper sizes. Set your desktop wallpaper to one of your favourites on CL and make some COLOURlove even when you aren't online. [640x480 800x600 1024x768 1280x1024 1600x1200] COLOURstats We put the first phase and very simple stats overview up on the homepage. You can see them right under the welcome blurb. Right now were just showing how many new colours, palettes and lovers are being added to the site daily. Soon this stats display will be combined with the trends system to show even more interesting information, like how many negative or positive votes hues like blue got for a certain month... or how well people reacted to palettes with yellow in them in Nov... Etc. 27 December, 2006 Love Notes went back online and whispers of colour affection were being passed around once again. The new love note system is much bigger and better than the previous version. It allows for multiple deletes and also has a Sent folder to see your sent notes. 29 January, 2007 DISCUSSIONlove went back online as the Vanilla forums were put live. 30 January, 2007 FireFox Palette Search Tool - We created a FireFox search plugin so you can search for a palette directly from your browser anytime. Added Search By Hex Too 1 February, 2007 Social Bookmarking links to Delicious & Digg were added to all the CLblog pages. New ad size and re-structure of the site layout. In order to accommodate the standard 300x250 ad size we shifted things in the layout around a little bit. 1 February, 2007 1st phase of the palette maker upgrades is complete. You can now drag around the color squares to re-order the palette you are making. Grab a color square and drag it:

The sample here doesn't work for me... the entire palette moves, not the individual colour...
but hey! thanks for getting this perk in action, it will make making palettes alot easier... ![]()

OK, D,
This is awesome. This is why I used to have 5 Firefox tabs open to create one palette - I could never make up my mind on the best order. Put one color next to the another, and the whole thing changes. Two criticisms: 1. If you click on a color already in your palette, if at all possible, the color picker should go back to that color. It's not easy finding the exact color again, to change it slightly, or go with one of the similar colors. Also, my first instinct after this issue was to copy and paste the hex listed over the color, but, I couldn't select that text. So I had to type it in. Not quite as awesome as it could be. 2. Speaking of the "similar colors" feature - that is also totally rad, but it would be nice to know that those were already colors in the system. I figured that out pretty quick, but, whatev - I just didn't get it right away. ![]() ![]() ![]() COLOURlov… COLOURlover wrote: 7 Feb, 2007
Hey T,
1.) Double click the color square you would like to edit and "Viola!" that is the colour you can edit... Say you want to edit the Fuchsia color... Mouseover the square and double click.
Now you can edit the Fuchsia color. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
