So I recently let people know I was offered a position at Microsoft and that I accepted. Some people were quick to ask what this means for COLOURlovers?
I have always needed to work on the side to keep food in the fridge as CL makes enough income to cover its costs, so this won't be any drastic change in my focus for CL. I will still have time to keep the ship heading in what I feel like is the right direction.
Most importantly I think this will be a great opportunity for COLOURlovers. It will give me a bit more stable of an income and me being stable means that COLOURlovers is more stable. It also means I'll be working with some very smart people working on some pretty cool things at Microsoft Live Labs. (One creative person there recently created a Color Widget with our API)
So have no fear... we're still panning on growing this color loving community and will continue to work hard on making it the best that in can be.
P.S. I'll be working with the team at www.Photosynth.com.
Thanks for your continued support.

Yes. I'm moving up in two weeks. Will be in temporary housing until we find a place. Any places in Seattle that we should check out?

There are so many different neighborhoods in Seattle. So it depends on what you are looking for. Got any thoughts on that? And how long do you want to commute to work each day? So, maybe what is the ratio of cool vs. commute? Are you going to bus it? Ride a bike to work?
Me? I commute 45 minutes each way most days. Bleh.
The commute can be a bear though so it is something to keep in mind. Though full time employees do have the connector they can use. Check that out when you get on campus as you might want to look for a place with a connector connection.
There are 2 bridges that go from Seattle to the Eastside. So if you are going to live on the Seattle side, living sort of near one is a good thing.
Do you want to be in an arty neighborhood or ??? What kind of vibe would you like? What amenities?

I read a novel about a guy working at Microsoft a few years back by Douglas Coupland called Microserfs (1995)
Its totally nineties, but it made the microsoft working enviernment seem so interesting and it totally stuck with me so much that I have a strong desire to visit the land of microsoft
If you have time between packing and preparing, I would recommend it to you, if anything, just to get a laugh :)
Good Luck with everything!!!
