submitting new pattern files has been touched on here and there, but I don't think it has its own thread, and I have some perhaps silly questions about submitting pattern swatches.

I don't know anything about .svg interactivity and don't know how the pattern swatch should be prepared before the file is saved.

should the the pattern be separated into layers for each intended colour?

and/or

do the vector shapes need to be submitted in #CCC, #999, #666, #333 and #000?

What's the ideal swatch size? Does the aspect ratio matter?
