Hi I keep getting not a valid image message when trying to load any image from http adress including but not limited to images hosted here an example would be image or hosting on tinypic is there something I'm doing wrong or need to know?

Even though the image starts with an http:// it also has to end with an image extension. Here are some of those image extensions.
.jpg / .png / .gif / .bmp
So even if the image begins with an http:// make sure that it ends with an .jpg / .png /.gif /.bmp then it will work.
As for the image you provided as an example it will not work since your providing the site where the image is not the actual image.
To get the image link
Right click and then choose Copy image url that should give you the image url and not the site url.
