Hi all - I'm looking to re-paint my smallish bedroom and would like to use a warm grey with purple undertones. Nothing too chalky & pale, but also not too dark as to be cave like. Any suggestions on color/paint line? Thanks for any and all help

You can do anything from a more saturated lilac:
Margaret

To a little more gray-ish:
wandering_soul

To even something as deep as this one:
sleepwalking_violet

And you can always mess with the lightness/chroma of these if something seems too dark!

The color "crispy heather" under the palette "coolant" under my name may give you some of the lavender/grey look you are searching for. Hope that helps.

Behr has a color called Manhattan Mist, which I used in my bedroom. I picked it out because I was looking for a basic, pure gray, but once I got it on the walls, I noticed that it has pale blue/lavender undertones. It looks like the gray I was going for when I don't have much light, but depending on the time of day, the blue/lavender is noticeable. I'm in love with the color and couldn't be happier with my selection, though. :)

I'd definitely suggest buying a few different samples and painting them on the wall(s) that get the most light so you can see how the color will change throughout the day.

if you try a search under grey lavender it might turn up a few more tones :)

Just wondering how DARK you want to go..........check out my pattern named Lavender Greys - all those colours come from the Purple colour scale

Thanks - I'll check out Manhattan Mist, as I'm looking for more of a grey than a lavender but I don't want to go full on plum. I guess a warm grey is the best I can describe, on the darker end of the spectrum but not so dark that the bedroom resembles a cave.

Perhaps one of these?
April_Fool_Gray
Step_on_a_Crack
speculation
Natural_Gray
Lilac

I would recommend "Wings of a Dove" from Glidden. Tell us what you think of it.

Maybe this one?

One of the few I only use the Hexanumber of...

I noticed that the light blue / lavender mean. It looks like I'm going gray, I do not have too much light, but in the time of the day HP 940XL, blue / lavender is obvious.

i'm not really good with color blending. can you help me out? i'm planning to repaint my living room. i kinda like light colors and i don't know what colors to use. any suggestions? any suggestions will do. thanks :D

OccasionallyJane

I like yellows, sage green and light blues for living rooms. Gray is hot right now for neutral. What colors do you have in your living room now (furniture, etc?)

spiderpig0402

Sage green? im not really familiar with it. and light blues are so common. i want to try something new, new but not dull colors. colors of my furniture are quite light brownish. what do you think?

OccasionallyJane

I think a nice shade of sage would be lovely with light browns!

hmm .. i think that color looks good on my living room. not to light not to dark. you have any suggestions? just want to have an alternative. thanks in advance :D

OccasionallyJane

Well, it really depends on how adventurous you want to get. I love oranges and purples this season for instance, but they're not for everyone. Greens and blues tend to be safer but still stylish and modern.

Here are some orange and purple ideas.

chamomile

Fresh_Carrot

Ginger_Tea

Sweet_Potato

smelling_spring

purple

And some blues:

More green:

My sincerest apologies for not posting this in the proper place but the "bugs" thread is not letting me post.

For some reason a whole heap of stuff doesn't seem to be working properly. Noone's palettes/patterns are showing up on their profiles, just the bio and recent comments, I can't edit anything and none of the drop down menus are working.

Is this happening to anyone else or is it just me?

I just love this. The peachy colours look so calming and serene and then there's the grey and the turquoise which gives off a 50's feel (which I just love on its own). It's a perfect colour palette for this summer.
