Hello everyone :) I stumbled on this site while looking for advise about the colors of my 1922 Bungalow. I was really excited to see that this forum exists because I need some serious color help. I have done many hours of photo editing to try and come up with an acceptable color pallete but nothing I've tried has looked good. We bought the house 1 year ago and it came like this:

The roof is fairly new and is metal and Hunter Green The siding is aluminum and sage green The roof and siding can't be changed. (budget restrictions) I need help with a foundation color which the last owners painted red (!!) as well as a trim color which is currently boring white. So, what on earth will go with a hunter green roof and sage green siding??? Everyone in town calls our house "The Christmas House". I would also like to remove the horrible green carpet on the steps and then do a colored concrete stain...any suggestions there?
Any help and/or suggestions will be appreciated more than you know. Brit

Okay, had to give this one a go as I have been a designer for several years. I think that I have come up with a concept you would consider, not too outgragous and easy to live with for quite some time....... I started with the two colors that you said needed to stay, the siding and the roof colors. Next, I added some creamy, buttery light yellow for the trim with perhaps a light straw color to bring out the trim color by painting grooves, borders or maybe a stenciled design (monogram) on the shutters. Lastly I choose a warm toasty taupe color to stain the concert steps. All these colors would be so pretty as a back drop for the flowers along the walk or maybe in flower boxes hung from the porch???? So....whatcha think?????? Tamarak_Haven

WNDinter, thank you so much for taking the time to help me :) I think your colors are lovely and appropriate for a 20's bungalow. Would you use the creamy buttery light yellow for the foundation? Also, our roof is pretty close to this color: http://www.colourlovers.com/color/1A4E2B/Skin_Of_Tree
So do you think the colors you chose will still go with that?
And I like the color you picked for the steps too :)

Can't wait to hear your answers:)

So Glad you liked the colors!!!
To answer your questions,: yes, I would still go with the same colors after having looked at the roof color & the foundation should either be the same as the siding or the color of the steps not the light yellow color.
