Hi! New here and really need some advice.
I am working on product labels for an all natural skin care line. It needs to be elegant, simple and have a 'natural' appeal. The company name is written in black Vivaldi font. The containers consist of bottles that are clear and jars that are frosted. All caps and applicators are shiny black. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Questions are welcome too =) Bunny ![]() ![]() ![]() The Coole… The Cooler wrote: 2 Months Ago

Can you tell me more about the scope and categories of the products? How are they differentiated? How many lines?
This can effect the color choices as there may need to be harmonious groups that work as a whole when seen together, but differentiate different product lines/categories from one another to a consumer. Also, is Vivialdi locked in stone? ![]() ![]() ![]() GreenMyEy… GreenMyEyes wrote: 2 Months Ago
I would pick beach stone. Not only is it quite elegant, but that touch of pink ties the palette nicely to (some) skin tones. I think palettes which emphasize the pinks and pastels are a bit overdone in the cosmetics field. ![]() ![]() bunnyhop bunnyhop wrote: 2 Months Ago
Hi!
@ The Cooler and Happymoon, Thanks so much for the pallete suggestions - problem is I can't view them....do I have to do something special to see them?? Oh, this might drive me nuts because I REALLY want to see them!! @ Yikes, The categories are Cleansers, Moisturizers, Toners, Herbal Face Steams, Scrubs, Masks and Serums. We are set on the Vivaldi Font for the name. Thanks!! ![]() ![]() ![]() GreenMyEy… GreenMyEyes wrote: 2 Months Ago
@bunny, what browner and operating system are you using? That might help us figure out why you can't see the palettes above. ![]() ![]() bunnyhop bunnyhop wrote: 2 Months Ago
Hey GreenEyes - I figured it out =0) It's just my dumb computer, all I have to do is refresh after it loads and I can see them!! I'm browsing some of the colors from the palettes above --- good ideas here!! ![]() ![]() ![]() The Coole… The Cooler wrote: 2 Months Ago
here are a couple images of product packaging I feel is successful. I agree with greenmyeyes about too many "skin" colors and pinky pastels for cosmetics.

oh! i love those peach and avocado bottles! i am definitely swayed by a pretty package. i'll spend more than i would for a "regular" label. not because i think the product is better, but because if its going to sit around my house for a while i want it to look nice. ![]()

I agree totally. I have no idea what the product is, but I would definitely buy something anyway @The Cooler, could you possibly give us more info on this set? Pretty please? ![]() ![]() ![]() The Coole… The Cooler wrote: 2 Months Ago
Oh, sorry I wish I could, to tell you the truth I just googled "natural skin care packaging" and picked out my favorites. Guess I shouldn't added links...
I just went through my History and figured out where I found the Thymes, Coco Monoi Beauty Packaging "Avocado and Peach". It was done by a firm called Duffy & Partners, they have an amazing portfolio. Here are some of the other Thymes packaging they did
man, I really want to work for these guys! ![]()

You guys are awesome! I came up with a scheme - not sure it is anywhere near as elegant as I would have liked, but...........I will just have to see what you guys think so I will post the results as soon as the printer is done (yes,it went to print so keep your fingers crossed for me!).....as for some of the packaging shown here, it is sooooo gorgeous but not really in our realm because we are not using screen or hot printing and we don't have boxes. As much as I LOVE the look, unfortunately, it doesn't suit this project. Given the budget and all we have to work with, we stuck to SIMPLE - we went with a pretty green background similar to one of the colors LizCrimson presented in the Natural Elegance pallete (a green that says natural/organic/botanical I hope!) and went with a few different color 'splashes' to identify the diferent categories (toner, cleanser, moisturizer, etc). I hope it works!!!!!!!!

If you want to prototype something to see how it looks? A friend has a lovely label printer she just bought and wants to put to work. No minimums. Full color. Great quality. www.garrison-grafixx.com. Waterproof labels available.
Skin color is a tricky thing by the way. I would stay away from trying to guess which color of us to appeal. Sometimes less really is more and I liked the simplicity of the frosted bottles with simple type. ![]() ![]() |
