Pink, Brown, and What Else?

I'm currently designing this really cute business card and am having a lot of trouble with the third color. I've chosen a dark, almost chocolate brown and a deep pink similar to this one.

Since the card is going to be a plastic clear one, I want a third color to serve as a background for about 1/2 to 3/4-ths of it. What would be a good background color to make the pink and brown "pop" without being too overbearing?

Thanks :P

you can print an opaque white on clear plastic if you want, in fact to print color on clear plastic won't you have to use an opaque white under anyways, or am i missing something?

Jenny has some great combos!

Would be really helpful to see the design itself as at first I thought of what went well with pink and brown and then my brain actually re-read what you wrote and realised that this colour would be the background so the minty greens I'd like would really detract.

If I've understood what you mean then I would go for something very simple and neutral for the popping/non-detracting you're after. A very light fawn, much much lighter and brighter than this:
Mocha
maybe even a grey:

These neutral grays will work. I liked some of the aqua suggestions to though. What is the nature of the business? Are you sure you need a third color?

Hi,

You can use light grey for that back ground.
or mixup with the wine color.

Thanks

A business card should pop out, be simple, easy to remember and eye-catching yeah?

Maybe a third color would be crowding it a bit.

:)
