Hi!
I have a website where users requested that I add a light theme option, so I got to work, first I inverted every color of the black based dark theme, and then started working from there. This is what I have so far. It's not looking great, I don't know how to make it so. The blue text inside the blockquotes has to remain blue, but I can't find a background for it that would fit the rest of the site. When I asked for feedback users complained about "white burning their eyes" and suggested that I change the white background to a shade of grey, but I couldn't find a good enough color for that either. Any advice on what I could change to make this thing look at least good and pleasant to the eye? Thanks ![]()

Thanks liddle_r for the advices!
The user suggestions pointed me towards light grey, too and of course I tried them, like #eee #ddd #ccc but they all made the blue text "glow" and hurt even my eyes. I've tried the creme color you suggested, and it looks like this, but again, it doesn't feel right for the color scheme of the whole site. How did you like looks of the page btw? ![]()

Oh wow!
The Cooler, #36414A for the blockquotes and maybe #B34007 for the links looks just amazing! It's like 100x times better imo! Check this pic. Can you maybe help with a fitting background color for the main text area as well? I've tried the brown based colors on that palette, but they are not the greatest, with them the has too many base-colors. We have orange, grey, blue and white. If it's possible I wouldn't like to add a fifth :/ Thanks for this palette though, it is already a _very big_ help! ![]() ![]() ![]() liddle_r liddle_r wrote: 24 Jun, 2008
Oh! I wasn't getting what color you were wanting to change! Doh! Sorry about that! ![]() ![]() csulok csulok wrote: 5 Jul, 2008
Ok, probably there's a problem with my taste or something, but I just can't make a decent theme for the site. No matter how many color variations I try, I just can't make one that looks good.
Could someone help with making a "swatch", that has fitting colors closest to the current main colors of the site? These are the 5 main colors of the site: #B34007 #E0E0D8 #2E2E2E #6C6C6C #00C0FF Thank you ![]()

The second one looks really nice when implemented on the site, thank you very much! ![]()
