Advice Request-website spay clinic & pet adoption

Hello All, We are having a website designed for our low cost spay neuter clinic/pet adoption organization
.
I am trying to pick out a color palette for the website. I tend to lean towards blue-green, aqua, blue or green or both. There will be cat and dog photos scattered around the site and don't want it to look too 'busy'.
Any suggestions?
Grateful,
Connie

I think blue/green/aqua is a good choice. I would keep it "light" and friendly. Also add a touch of warmth so it isn't too sterile. Here are are some examples to start with. Please do give feedback on these to help me/us find the perfect combo for you!

clinic 1

clinic 2

clinic 3

I agree with liddle_r that you should add a warmer color to the blue & green to take the "chill" off. Here are some of mine that might fit. I know some of them are rather dark, but you could always use a white or light-colored background and use the darker colors as accents.

Bruised Moon

Wow! I wish I found you guys before I painted my house!

These are wonderful!

I immediately zoned into clinic1,2&3 as those were the colors I was thinking about. But I am intrigued with all 3 of pi's and bruised moon, but worry about adding too many different colors as we will have various photos of cats & dogs (often darker coats -brown/black etc).

Question- with the clinic 1-3 colors, do I need a dark accent color to balance the darker photos of the cats & dogs? I also seem to lean toward the palettes with a steel gray accent but won't that give the website a corporate or tech feel?

Thanks to all for your help!

Well, I would also include black in your palette for text. You could use it as outlines for the photos or anywhere else. Possibly black would be too harsh and if so, use a very dark grey.

I think I would stay away from too much grey but that is me. Grey seems less friendly and clean. (I love grey for art sites though...)

I think of mine I like clinic 3 best. It feels the most open and friendly to me. But, clinic 1 might be good too as it has the warm tone in it.

You could have your designer mock up the site with a couple different palettes and see what feels good. If your designer balks at that, have them just do major areas in color hunks so you can see what it would feel like.

took liddle_r's clinic 1 (well... close to... used triple hex values) & changed 1 color to a steel gray color... so i warmed up the almost white & cream a little...

That is cool. It has a nice warm feeling to it.

I know part of what I like about my third one is that it feels "clean". The tones are relatively clear and not "muddy". That seems important for a surgical place. Cleanliness that is!

Again, though, doing some basic mocks ups would be good to help give you a sense of it. Because these little palettes have one feeling but can feel quite differently when used in bigger hunks of color.
