does anyone know if there is a resource (book/website) about colors in relation to countries? favorites, dislikes, palettes, theories or statistics for exteriors, paint or fashion. thanks for any help. ryan

I'm not sure this is exactly what you are looking for but it give a good break down of the meanings different cultures attach to different colours.

but I'm looking behind the reason
why some have more favorites and dislikes
besides color trends.

It seems like the colours that represent various taboos vary from country to county, just from reading about the traditional wedding and funeral colours in various cultures.

Of course I can't remember where, but there are countries where white is associated with death, for instance, and thus not the colour of choice for weddings.
