I'm re-posting the new badge here but also, since we'll be starting our second go around the alphabet soon (and wasn't that quick!) I thought it might be helpful to list all the words so we don't accidentally use them again:

* Copy And Paste Badge Code

*We're up to Zebra, the person who makes that has to select a new A word.

p.s. I'm hoping these things are helpful but if anyone feels like I'm taking over or generally finds it annoying then please don't hesitate to let me know.

I agree, for X and Q, it would be nice if the word only have to contain the letter (in case we're running out of X and Q words, or can't remember any)... What about Z, anyway? Also, probably it would be nice to check the availability of colors with names that contain the word you want to challenge people with... Just in case there's no color with that word in the name. What do you think?

How about this?
If there are only 2 pages or less for any word, only one color word has to be in the palette, and the rest of the colors can relate to that word. Because it's not just alphabet frequency we are dealing with, but whether people named enough colors.

Or... just a thought. I don't always name my colors right away, maybe others don't either ... So people could name their unnamed colors to use in the palette. I have a ton of colors just named X, lol... that would fix the X problem! If you search for "x" with the quotation marks, using my lover name, you'll see them.

And I totally agree, checking your challenge word would only be fair to the next player. Although it would be a hoot to start a game with dirty tricks ^_^

I don't think q falls in the same category as x. I just searched queen, question, quirky, quit, quiet and quarter and all of them have plenty of pages. Even quiz and queasy have more than 2 pages. . .

I always check to see if the word I want to use has plenty of colors. .. I think that is a good idea.

Well, I offer here and now, an unnamed color to anyone who falls short in this game. Just message me about it. Here they are.

That's a very generous offer eighteyed, thankyou very much. I think with tricky letters/words we should just be a bit flexible and forgive people if they need to use other words relating to the topic or even if they need to create a colour of their own. It is a game after all and I think the most important elements are fun and creativity. And yes, checking the colour availability before you suggest a word is essential.

behappy and all of the rest of the personas tied to that person come across as adults trying way too hard to be children. Try as this person might, they miss the mark. Most 15-year-old girls do not act like this person does (unless something isn't right in the head department). And what are the odds that multiple 15-year-old girls with the same creepy with dash of psychotic demeanor who supposedly don't know one another would converge on the site all at once and become "friends"? This person caused a ruckus last summer and then left for a while. Now they've come back for no other reason than to be attention whores.

I wish you, Souldew, could have known a time at CL when a thread like this wasn't needed. We didn't have viruses like "Caroline" and behappy and the other wastes-of-CL-space. But this is what happens when the creator of a community is way too optimistic about people's abilities to control their behavior and act like civilized human beings and therefore sets no rules or regulations.

While I haven't personally been spammed, clearcreek did try talking to me, which was...more than just a little awkward. I mean...I don't know, it just sounded...off. I sure as heck don't like dishing out personal info to strangers (even though I did ;-;) and asking personal questions right off the bat is...weird to me. Especially when I make a point of not listing my age.

I don't know. Maybe the overwhelming happiness is making me very uncomfortable--that, and the disconcerting levels of instant familiarity. But oddly enough it also feels like they don't really care at all--just based on how it's worded. And then behappy messaged me and...mmmph, I've never heard something so blatantly uncaring yet innocently offensive. I'm not "sorry" that I have Asperger's and I sure as heck don't want pity. I posted that on my profile so people would know about it and look it up if they wanted to know more, not so I could get vague messages expressing false pity.

Maybe I'm looking at it wrong? I don't know. I just feel very uncomfortable.

And I am sooo not in the mood to deal with any more middle school drama.

But, back to the main point, yes, they're spamming and it's annoying as heck. It's not only ridiculously rude but shows just how selfish and self-centered the spammer is.

"Freedom of Speech" (which some of us have the luxury to use. Not everyone has the right, just saying) does not mean that etiquette can be thrown out the window and you can say whatever the heck you feel like. And if you feel like you have to invoke it, you know that you're saying something that most people won't agree with and that is probably wrong.

....I also kind of find it sad that this, of all threads, is the first time I've ever expressed an opinion on CL. We shouldn't have to be discussing this.
