In this case, it's a sorting filter. Asc (ascending) sorts things from first to last and Desc (descending) sorts things from last to first.

Desc and asc are file extensions.
desc = description file
asc = agent character file
As for what makes them different and what their functions are, I have no idea.

Here's how it goes:
1. Take the last palette from the previous post. (I'll choose one to start off)
2. Choose your favourite colour from the palette. Post the badge.
3. Type the NAME of the colour into the search bar at the top right of the window, making sure SEARCH PALETTES is selected.
Choose your favourite palette from the results. (If there isn't one, just make one based on the colour you chose.) Post the badge.
4. Choose your favourite colour from this palette. Post the badge.
5. Finally, make a new palette based on this colour! And, of course, post the badge.
NOTE: You should love all your favourite palettes and colours along the way. Spread the love!
