I've been a long time member of COLOURlovers and I did not make my first palette or color until this year...now it's become an obsession to play with colors and patterns and palettes. Is this the same for others? Why the obsession?

I think there is an obsession in finding the perfect colour, and having the most beautiful thing.

Colour is interesting like that.

are you kidding? we're all totally addicted! you should read some of the comments and palettes dedicated to just that. rageforst (who was a regular but doesn't come by anymore) used to call the site "colouraddicts"! i don't know why, but its definitely true.

for me, its like try to make that perfect palette, and choose that perfect color, so you feel something when you view it. so so addicting. i come by everyday whenever I get the chance

No. Not addicted at all. I do have school, you know, homework, my friends, secret dreams of becoming a webdesigner, even more secret dreams of writing a novel someday...

If I didn't have responsibilities, I'd spend half my time on this site. As it is, half the time I have to spare I'm here. ^^

It's funny—colours seem such simple things, and lots of other addictions are much more diverse (I'm thinking Sims here); and yet, there is something to be said for exploring black, white, and all the RGBs in between. And the more I'm here, the more I realize that colour is really not such a small world after all.

As of now, there are only 905,329 colours named. One million. How many more to go? Lots.

I Just Want peoples opinions on palettes and see if they feel the same way about certain colors as i do i, also want to get inspiration for my room!

Because if you add just one more palette, maybe it will be really awesome palette and you will get lots of comments. And then you have to add just one more..

Ok, that, and I just love color. :D

Maybe, like some of us, you think in color? I don't want to enable you because I know what ink cartridges cost.

whenever i'm feeling sad or grumpy my boyfriend asks me if i want to go online and play with the colours to cheer me up hehe

I love it here too. I just joined and am addicted already. I had to quit my job in July due to health reasons so I was looking for new color trends (I also make jewelry but haven't been able to do much of that either lately.) found this site and now I may never leave. There is just something about color, the mixing and matching and trying to find the perfect color in the perfect pattern.......*sigh*.........I think I found a little bit of heaven.

I've noticed recently that whenever I comment on a palette I get a response back immediately. Are we all always here??? (I am.)

For me, the obsession is inspiration. Sometimes I'm stuck on a project for a client, and coming here gets the juices flowing. Occasionally, it makes me think of something to illustrate or sketch. And sometimes, I've even been inspired to a crochet project just by seeing a set of colors together. It's just a wonderful place to browse and get ideas. :) (and the nice people help too.)

I'm nearly always here (except when I'm asleep). I keep a window minimized on my desktop & I check in whenever I need a break from my real job.

my friend found COLOURlovers for me as a medium to relax me when I get stressed with all the work...and look at what happened no work is getting done....

I love the feeling of expressing myself in such a simple way, without words to get in the way. It's succinct and free-flowing, and I think fleshy said it well:

Even if I am short on time I can always jump in and click off a quick palette....therapy comes in many guises you know...and I feel much better thinking of it as therapy instead of addiction...lol

i'm completely, gloriously obsessed. i even dream of palettes! lol

Wow! You guys, I seriously missed you for the past five days! I am moving and have had no access to the internet and I was going through CL withdrawal! We went to Home Depot and I was colourgasming all over the paint chips. I had handfuls of them, I think I am going to cut them all up and make a collage with them. I got home with them and sat down and started arranging them into palettes. What would I do without this site?!

ha, ha --- so i think that oh about 60 or so percent of my thought processes include colour. and this site, holey moley, i think you all are just *so* wonderful, it just adds to that. I keep CL open in a tab pretty much alway. mmm colours...
