I thought I would bring up the topic of personalized postage since rates went up in the US on May 12. With custom postage you can use your own illustrations, photos, etc. on stamps. It usually will set you back a chunk for the privilege but they are fun for special events, identity things, and so forth. There are several companies in the game now. Dogpile/Google/Yahoo Search: CUSTOM or PERSONALIZED POSTAGE.

While on the subject, and if you mail enough to make it worthwhile and don't have a postage meter? And your post office is far away or the lines take 3 hours to get through? For $17.99/month you can print postage at home. No surcharge for the postage. I don't think you can do pretty stamps and so forth though.
