I returned a while back from my vacation (and spent quite a bit of time away from CL, which makes me quite sad). I've tons and tons of photos, but I decided to choose two that are probably most interesting to you all.
Wave-washed rocks at Elli beach, near Rhodes. A sunset on top of our hotel's roof, near Mycenae. Mycenae as in the actual city of Agamemnon! I was so excited I could hardly breathe, which was unfortunate because it was on top of a hill. I had to climb up. -.- And Rhodes, by the way, is a fantastically well-preserved medieval city. Or part of it, at least. There are businesses and everything there, and people live their daily lives around restored buildings and pebbled streets and stone walls that are centuries old. (Don't ask me what I was doing on the hotel's roof.) So! The colours were really quite amazing on the beach and in the sunset, and the camera didn't quite do it justice. I think I should make a few palettes out of these images, but I'm a bit lazy at the moment. Isn't it pretty, though? ![]()

Just gorgeous! Greece is a favorite in my family. My mother went years ago with her mother and her sister. My aunt loved it so much she moved there! She lives in Athens and has a view of the Acropolis from her balcony. My brother's been there twice and brought home some fabulous photos. I love the windmills (I think they're in Santorini) and the white buildings with their blue doors and window frames. ![]() ![]() ![]() eighthmus… eighthmuse wrote: 23 Apr, 2008
Aah, yes. In Athens, really? It must be so nice to visit her. ^^ I tried taking photos of the Acropolis at night, because there's all these lights that make it look golden and glowing in the dark. Sadly I was too shaky and I only have a very blurred photo of it.
And sewillia, that's excellent. I'm so happy you found something in the photos. I especially like that dark, dark purple (or brown?) at the end. ![]() ![]() |
