Name a film that inspires you. This can be the last film that inspired you, or your favorite film that inspires you.
My pick is Finding Nemo! It has some of the most beautiful color palettes and environments. It happens to also have an amazing soundtrack. ;)

Great question kqeda! I would have to say, your probably going to laugh but I think Wizard of Oz, when she goes to Oz in Technicolour of course. There are some great colours in that film, and its a classic, am I right?
I also love Finding Nemo, and its sound track and have to agree that it has some AWESOME Colours!!! ![]()

The films of Miyazaki including: Porco Rosso, My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service... Oh I agree! He really pays attention to light, and light on water - there's that fabulous sequence in Spirited Away when they travel by train. And the forest in Princess Mononoke. Clouds too. What an amazing guy. I've just been reading the interviews with him and articles he has written - you can find them on Nausicaa.net ![]() ![]() ![]() pointblan… pointblank wrote: 28 Mar, 2008
Ace question, I'd have to say the lion king, loads of rich burnt Autumn colours

Mainly towards the end they managed to pull some dark and gloomy moods. Great film! ![]() ![]() ![]() despise despise wrote: 28 Mar, 2008

I really enjoy colors Tim Burton creates in his film. A movie that wasn't too great, but had amazing atmospheres was his version of 'Planet of the Apes." Of course, his Edward Scissor Hands was amazing, along with Corpse Bridge.

I find The Village very inspiring. The countryside where they shot it is so picturesque and all of the colours are so earthy. ![]() ![]() ![]() kqeda kqeda wrote: 28 Mar, 2008

From a pure colour perspective, the films of Yimou Zhang. I've only seen the "popular" ones, but still . . . wow.
Curse of the Golden Flower House of Flying Daggers Hero I recently rewatched Barton Fink for the first time in yeeeeears and I noticed a striking, recurring palette in the movie. I don't think it ever would have registered were it not for CL developing my "colour radar": ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() manekinek… manekineko wrote: 31 Mar, 2008

I never run into many people that have seen it, but there's this awesome Brian de Palma movie called Phantom of the Paradise that's really dated, but the cinematography is so awesome and colorful. It's kind of a ridiculous movie. I really love it for that. ![]() ![]() |
