For The Cooks: For that aspring chef in your life here are a few things that will brighten up their kitchen and spirits as they spend their days making magic in the kitchen. The bowls are perfect for serving and a hand-held blender is great for the friend that makes mashed potatoes or protein shakes and doesn't want the hassle of all the clean up. If you want to go the extra mile, consider getting a recipe book and filling it with your favorite family recipes and collect favorite recipes from family and friends. These gifts are sure to be a hit for that lovely cook.

1. Bowls, 2. Recipe Book, 3. Blender, 4. Cutting Board, 5. Knives

For The Nesters: Finding a unique and colorful piece to brighten up the home is always a good route to go for the friend who just moved or the couple who just married. The perfect pieces can add a little hint of color in the right spots and will be a staple in their home for years to come. Made By Girl offers custom colorful prints so you can add a last name to be hung in the living room or a baby's name for the nursery. Either way this gift will be a thoughtful addition to any home.

1. Candle Holders, 2. Knot Pillow, 3. Lamp, 4. Custom Name Print

For The Men: Oh the men. Us ladies can all agree for shopping for men isn't the easiest of tasks. So here are a few colorful and unique items that will get them excited. Let's highlight "The Present" a brand new clock that takes a full year to complete. The purpose and thought behind this idea is very interesting and worth checking out. Other items include a Tattly box, filled with faux tattoos, and a Tokyo Flash watch. It is worth giving honorable mention to a gift that is just as awesome, but a little different. Quarterly.co offers unique packages curated and sent by top designers and influencers. If your guy wants a little inspiration, this is a great way to go.

1. Tattly Box, 2. "The Present" Clock  3. Quote Books 4. Tokyo Flash Watch  5. Crumpled Map

For the Crafter: For that creative person in your life, consider an easy DIY project that will make all the difference to them. Yarn Letters, Wall Art, or a DIY holiday ornament are great suggestions that will add something special to their collection of goodies. And the best part is, they will keep your gift for years to come and always remember where it came from.

1. DIY Letters 2. DIY Wall Art 3. Ornament, 4. DIY Dryer Balls

For the Gals: I chose a few great ideas for any girl, but of course the list could go on and on, couldn't it? Colourful headbands or some statement bangles will be well-received by that special gal in your life. Last but not least are a pair of sparkly shoe clips that she can add to any pair of shoes to give it that extra special something.

1. Headband, 2. Bracelets, 3. Bando Shoe Clips

The Tech Snob: Yeah, you know who I'm talking about. There's always that one person on your list who has to get anything techy the moment it becomes available. So what does someone like this always need? Something to organize, show off and/or protect their investments.

1. CableDrop Cord Clips 2. SHOWWX+ (iPhone, iPad, iPod) 3. Lemon Yellow Elephant March - iPad Sleeve 4. Kindle Fire Case

Who couldn't use a cable organizing system? They come in a variety of colors so go loud, muted or plain white for the extreme minimalist if need be. A simple, yet affordable gift or stocking stuffer.

Anyone in love with their iDevice would be amped to receive something to utilize it even further by enabling it to show off their photo gallery as a slideshow, movies and even streaming content. Lastly, Etsy is chock full of sleeves, cases and covers for almost any tech device at decent prices and many amazing colors and pattern schemes to choose from.

Love the colorful inside out bowls from anthropologie.!!!!..they would be the most ideal gift to myself! :)

Dupsie

I think I'd go with the wall art. My sister's not really into it, but our new apartment gives me my own room - my walls need decorating! :) The case mate stuff is also super awesome, but I need a new gadget to put in one (hint hint dad!). I also love the limited edition fashionary and sibling fashion illustrator set: http://fashionary.org/special-sibling/
if anyone I know got this for me for Christmas, I would wash their car forever! :)

Alicialoveslife

Wow! I love everything on here! Especially the cook ideas. The binding on the cookbook gives me such inspiration. . .

Happy gift giving! (and receiving lol)

The idea is to bring items you see outside of what we posted as gifts in the blog post. But we also love hearing that you liked what we posted! :D

@Alicialoveslife and @warriorliz

If you'd like to be considered in the selection please try to find (and link / place picture) something in addition to what you love in the post. We LOVE hearing what you loved within the post but were looking for outside inspiration as well. :)

Even, for example, @warriorliz, you could post one of the other bowls featured on anthropologie page.

Hope that helps and is clear for you two and everyone else placing submissions.

Have fun! Excited to see what kind of things COLOURlovers find out there. Loving the FASHIONARY SIBLING @Dupsie - and quite colorful!

Sorry! Was just looking at pictures and not actually reading words o.0

Wasn't really trying to enter the contest, just perusing the lovely items.

But. . .

My ideal present would be 100% linen embroidery floss for a project I have really been wanting to work on, but haven't gotten the supplies for yet (translation: spending my money on groceries, instead of YET ANOTHER crafty project. But I gotta feed my addiction somehow. lol).

Team

mollybermea

No problem! :) Just making sure in case you were - you still had the opportunity.

Ohhhh I adore stitching floss. Would love to see your project idea. :)

I would love to make something like this (Challah Cover)

http://jewishsource.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=115618&Cat=Holiday+%26+Ritual

But with less birds : ) It would be of my own design. I really like embroidery, but I don't get to do it much.

mollybermea

@Alicialoveslife wow! Well I hope someone picks you up some floss. :) I've been really wanting to embroider over a men's necktie. Haven't had the opportunity yet. My husband wears a tie for work so I thought it would be fitting. :)

Alicialoveslife

That sounds like such a fun and unique project! Too bad I don't have any menfolk who wear ties *pout* I bet you would make something amazing. If you made yourself a matching head band or neck scarf or something it would be KILLER adorable. : D

Liebling

This is my favourite hat at Etsy, and I am dying to get one; Panda Wonderful

And I would kill for one of these; Katwise Elf Coat (I've bought her tutorial and am working on finding the time to make one!)

Penina

Does it count if I want to MAKE this for myself? :-)

Yup, I'm thinkin' Spoonflower…

Just one more, I swear! (from Anthropologie):

itsabeta

Essie luxeffects holiday collection of nail polish! :)

I also would really like a new backpack, like this one:

Oh, I've been wanting one of those stick blenders to go with my new, healthier lifestyle. :-) Now I just have to decide on green or silver.

mrahel

My ideal colorful gift would be painting supplies. Utrecht Painting Supplies

I've never painted before (besides finger painting as a kid, and maybe some paint by numbers stuff...) and I would love to get into that. Right now, I concentrate a lot of my time on photography and web design work, so it would be a nice change of pace to move along to something that I can express my own personal thoughts and feelings into, more so than I can with traditional "work" related tasks.

crystalhintze

My colorful gift would be new bedding for my master. I'm tired of the black, white and hot pink. I want something more vibrant in my room.

Do you have an inspirational link/image online that you could portray this idea on here for the rest of us to better visualize it?

Awesome that you like those in the post. It's fun that a lot of non-traditional product lines are becoming so much more colorful.

IF you would like to be in the running for the case-mate DIY case giveaway, please find something unique to the post here that you would like(maybe something else you want online)? :) What else works for your healthy, colorful new lifestyle

I do a lot of computer work and when I finally (sometimes it can take 6mos +) get to work on some painting it is SUCH THERAPY! There is such a difference to working with your hands and the creations of paint.

Oils might be your first choice because they take longer to dry. I personally like an oil paint that uses Walnut Oil instead of Linseed Oil (fumes and texture-spreadability). Make sure you get the corresponding thinner with whatever paint you use though. aka. Walnut Oil should be used with Walnut Oil, not Linseed.

Anyway.... my last suggestion would also to be to get some hand me down latex paint mixed with some cheap tempra paints and a large canvas, maybe a 4'x4' to have some fun with and experiment. Never constrict yourself to a tiny canvas, unless you can't handle a big space. :) It's really enlivening to use house paint brushes and latex paint to just create! Big sweeping movements, etc. for background and then go in with some more detail art as an overlay.

Okay, I'm getting carried away. Can you tell LOOOOVE to paint? :)

Zazlandia

I have water-soluble oils on my Christmas list (I'm allergic to traditional oil paint) and a bunch of square canvases. My dad is a watercolor artist and I avoided doing art for the longest time because I hated being compared to him (he's amazing). I've grown up now and can deal with all that. ;) I hope you'll love painting, mrahel! It's very therapeutic. :)

I guess I'm really a tech snob since I really NEED one of those SHOWWX+ things. Now. I didn't know they existed before.

And I suppose I need an elf coat now, too, but it would need to be in more than one color, but mostly greens and purples. That's just amazing.

A friend of mine has recently discovered her creative abilities and I'm now a huge fan. She is doing mixed media work (I had never heard of alcohol inks before) and I find myself wishing for every single page in her art journal. I'm hoping she makes prints and this one would be on my wish list in a heartbeat:

Love the DIY Letters. So many possibilities for every room! I also could really use the Cable/Cord clips to help get the mess tidied up. Thanks for the links that you share. I would love to have a Casemate for my iPhone 4.

If you want to be in the running for the case-mate DIY case, then please post something colorful you would like that's NOT on our guide. :) Looking for extra colorful items out there that people may like/want. :)

Great post, Allison! Those knives just made it on my wishlist, so thanks! And thanks too for using two of my templates in the Mugo case graphic too; it made my day. :)

(@Penina - those bowls are amazing!)

Hmm.... There are more colourful things out there, but something I have always wanted is this Tibor Kalman umbrella from the Museum of Modern Art:

It would bring such a welcome pop of colour to those rainy, grey days. :)
Here is a purchase link.

Here's another day brightener:
