sedna

sedna is the inuit goddess of the sea. she married a man who turned out to be a bird, and her father came to rescue her in a kayak. he killed the man and took his daughter. but a raven came to avenge the murder and caused a huge storm. the father freaked and threw sedna overboard. when she tried to climb back in, he cut her fingers off with the paddles. she sank into the water and her fingers became all the sea animals and her nails became whale bone.
