In a heartfelt welcome message, our fearless leader Bubs explains some of the thought behind Creative Market:

Your local farmer's market is more than a transactional experience, it's an opportunity to meet the producers and learn the story behind their goods, and to interact with a community of like-minded people who all appreciate artisan creators. Creative Market is built with a similar ethos to make beautiful design simple and accessible to everybody, by building a platform that lets designers around the world connect with consumers of design assets like fonts, templates, illustrations, and more. And to facilitate those connections in a marketplace that celebrates, supports and pushes the design world forward.

The fall season is second to none. There's something about the crisp breezes brushing against my cheeks and the leaves crunching underneath my feet that are familiar. A reminder of how refreshing and beautiful this variegated transition from the dog days of summer into the tranquility of winter can be.

With so many memories--new and old--conjured in the presence of autumn, I find myself flooded by their warmth and comfort, as well as their adventure and intrigue.

Waking up in the mornings to family time in the backyard. What I then considered chores were actually chances for my family and I to bask in the company of love and fun. Raking leaves was more than work; it was us versus them in strategic, yet friendly Backyardigan turf wars.

How to Enter

COLOURlovers members will create a custom color palette and use it to color in a web template. Each color will be associated with a certain part of the web layout. Members are limited to just 3 contest entries, so choose your palettes wisely.

Auerbach, in collaboration with Daniel E. Kelm, has taken every color there is and placed them in three amazing 8 x 8 x 8-inch case bound books called the RGB Colorspace Atlas. Each volume contains a different color scheme and they were created with digital offset print on paper, while the cloth covers and page edges were airbrushed.

Feast your eyes on their colorful, cubic creations.

Many of Colorado’s best brew flavors start with hops. These hops are from Voss Farms in Arvada, Colorado, where Cascade, Centennial, Willamette, and Chinook hops are grown. The popping greens scream summer and life.

Picking out a room’s colors can be quite an ordeal. Most of the time, you’re struggling against a common opponent—lighting. However, I’ve found that most people only concern themselves with being aware of the lighting in the paint store, and how that changes the color they see in front of them.

When you bring your color home, there is a pretty good chance it can vary from room to room as well, all due to different color temperatures in your bulbs. Now…why would they do such a thing? Aren’t all the light bulbs in my house supposed to be the same color?

With newer lighting technology come new advancements in color and a wider array of choices. CFL and LED bulbs are available in at least three different values: Soft White, Bright White, and Daylight. Each provides you with the light that you need, but offers it at varying “temperatures.”

So what’s the strategy for getting your color palette to match up with your lighting? First, you’ll want to plan out the look you want for the room in question — the rest falls into place from there.
