Thatgamecompany, cofounded by USC students Kellee Santiago and Jenova Chen in 2006, is a video game developer based in Los Angeles. Recently we came across an interesting topic on Quora: Are there certain colors you can wear to make bees and wasps ignore you? The answers, from people with a variety of expertise on the matter, included some really great tips and we wanted to share the love.

First things first, you should know that bees are attracted to smells more than they are to colors. If you're going to be outdoors with a potential for bees and wasps, it's a good idea to avoid the following:

- perfume
- scented soaps and lotions
- scented laundry detergents

Speaking of laundry detergent, another thing to watch for is detergents that contain UV brighteners. If this is in your detergent, there's a good chance that bees can pick up on it, regardless of what colors you're wearing.

Voting Process

To vote, COLOURlovers simply need to click the "love" button on the designs you like the most. At the end of the voting period, the top five (5) designs with the most Love will be chosen as winners.

Prizes

What do they win? Each of the 5 winners will get a 24” x 36” rolled canvas print, courtesy of UPrinting.com! Winners can choose to go with a 2 inch border or no border and they can print a design of their choosing on the canvas. There's a turnaround time of one business day to get the canvas printed.

The Color Run is more than just a run, it's an experience. In fact, the whole running part is not really the focus -- it's more about having an insanely fun, colorful day with friends and family.

The Color Run takes place throughout the year in various locations across the United States and is open to all ages, shapes, sizes, and skill levels. United in their love of all things color, the participants must follow two simple rules: 1) wear a white (blank canvas) at the start, and 2) finish the run splattered in colorful goodness.

We recently had Team COLOURlovers participate in the San Francisco event and, well, you can see just how much fun they had in the photos below.

Today we celebrate the first birthday of the all-popular community-run group, COLOURlovers Artist of the Day, better known as CLAD!

CLAD was a user created idea that was user developed, user loved and is currently user managed -- and massively user adored! Since CLAD's inception exactly a year ago, the group has attracted over 400 members, spawned more than 18,500 patterns and created over 2,500 celebratory 1Lover Palettes.

Today, the CLAD group founder and administrator, Dawn, AKA COLOURlover, American Women, would like to share and celebrate the COLOURlovers community that is CLAD. Take it away Dawn!

Hello COLOURlovers, my name is Dawn DeSimone-otherwise known on COLOURlovers as American Women. Today is CLAD's 1st Birthday!

About a year ago I had a thought. Since then I have committed quite a few thought crimes, but this one in particular was about you, "The Colour Lovers Community". I thought you ALL deserved "one day" to be recognized for your amazing talent, dedication, and commitment to the colour revolution! Just one day for your peers to discover you, celebrate you, and be inspired by you, and so.......

CLAD was born! Each day we randomly select a COLOURlover from the group as our featured artist and encourage other lovers to visit their profile page, explore and love their art, and then use their palettes, colours and templates to create patterns and 1 Lover Palettes in celebration of their work. We then induct them into the Colour Lovers Colours group, better known as CLCL, where we encourage lovers to name a colour in their honor.

At that time, I personally was on my 6th COLOURlovers member identity incarnation and had finally settled on American Women. Ycc2106 was my COLOURlovers idol, friend and now partner in thought crime. She helped take CLAD from forum to group to fun to what it is today. Ycc2106's community efforts are priceless! She is currently on hiatus for "reasons unknown" and with ycc2106 missing the group went on hiatus for a while too... she is deeply missed, yet never forgotten because of people like you who continue the legacy of what CLAD's mission stands for!

If you were a kid in the '80s, chances are you remember Teddy Ruxpin. In the '90s? One word: Furby. Well in 2012, a new fledgling company is looking to revolutionize toys for the iGeneration.

Ubooly is a Boulder-based startup that successfully funded a Kickstarter campaign back in April. Just three months later, they are gearing up to start shipping units to excited kids and grownups everywhere.

What exactly is an Ubooly you ask? It's a smart toy powered by your smart phone to help teach your smart kids through meaningful interactions. Recommended for ages 4-9, Ubooly uses voice recognition and ongoing updates to make sure it's the smartest toy. Pretty smart, wouldn't you say?

You can submit either scans or photos of your colorings and you can submit an entry each day to increase your chances of winning.
