Remembering & Honoring a Friend: Sunmeadow

Remembering & Honoring a Friend: Sunmeadow

Life is a fragile thing and it always hurts the heart when somebody passes well before their time. We're deeply saddened by the loss of one of our active, loving, creative & supportive members; sunmeadow. She leaves many friends here in our community and we're incredibly honored to have the privilege to continue hosting & sharing her creations with the world. We may have 1.5 million members now, but every single one is important to me and is greatly appreciated. We love you sunmeadow and thank you for all you shared with us and all the inspiration you will continue to share.

A close friend of hers let me know of the sad news. They also noted that she was a very private person and that she would appreciate her personal details not be shared here. I will respect her wishes and ask you to do the same.

Her last palette randomly created was entitled "Wings To Fly" and I believe she has them now. I can't possibly honor all that she shared here with us in one post, but I'll share some of her most popular creations below... and please feel free to share yours in the comments.

Very sad to learn of our loss of Sunmeadow. We appreciate her generous and artistic spirit visible through her work on CL.

How in the world did I make it on the list with so many legendary CLers? I'm not worthy! But thank you for sharing this, willowsmoke. <3 Sunmeadow would be honored.

Oh, of course, Mei! I definitely consider you one of them. There are many to me. I agree with Willow's list although I only just recently met topbear and I don't even think I'm following her. (I would love to get to know her better!) But I would add many to the list including YCC2106, WordofMouse, Rubyvillasenor, Penina, American Women, Kalindy, o2bqueen, Praxicalidocious, Any Palacinos, Hana*, Capricciosa, Novrain62, napkin guy, Faeleia, Conache, Note, latigrewatson, Wist, Clemlou, Moma, Edido, Northern Dancer, Pauline Jones, Twister, Highwireart, Sugary, Ketisse, earlgrey, Huege, Anonymuse, Karnoug, and OMG soooo many others that would take forever to sit and write in the "CL Hall of Fame." Then there are those I never had the pleasure of "meeting" like faded jeans. I wasn't here when she was but she made a huge impact on the community and still does to this day.

This is Sunmeadow's father. We are so thankful to Symea and Jeremy for bringing this site and our daughter's involvement in it to our attention. We are overwhelmed by your outpouring of friendship, love, respect, and support for Sunmeadow. We were aware of some of her computer graphics design efforts but had no idea of the extent of the impact she had made.
Perhaps it would be appropriate to introduce Sunmeadow to the community. Her name is Suzi Larsen. She lived on Sunmeadow circle in Salt Lake City. She was a gifted attorney with many other talents. Four years ago she came down with a condition known as POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome). It is a condition of the autonomic nervous system and whenever she stood up, she would become dizzy and nauseous. This prevented her from doing many things - driving being one of them. All of her designs were created from bed. She could sit up in bed for some period of time, but still would have some mild symptoms of her condition. She taught herself the programs needed to create the graphics she submitted.
You can read more about her at www.wasatchlawn.com (mortuary website) and see a picture slide show of her. Thanks again for all of your comments. We really appreciate it and it has given us a new insight of Suzi and her talents. If anyone knows an easy way that we could save all of the comments in this memorial, please let us know.

I want to extend my heartfelt love for your family and everyone whose life your daughter touched. I understand from the website you posted that you are a family of faith and I believe your trust in the Lord during this difficult time will comfort your heart and mind as you deal with this tragedy. God bless you and comfort you.

sad_pattern_ever.

she taught me that day, with a kindergarden teacher´s patient how to
resize images, and how to add images to palettes.
that´s the reason for the palette´s name.
i was so happy, and she was so patient! :)
i cant post anything, just because nothing is worthy enough.
it will takes time to me, to be able to colour her templates again.
im deeply,profoundly sad.
and this is the hardest pattern ever.

Mr. Larsen,

Thanks so much for posting to this list! I've been hoping Suzi's family wold have a chance to see what an impact she had made here, and all the beautiful expressions, both verbal and visual, that have been shared.

I hope that knowing how many people she touched and what a rich legacy she created will ease your loss, and bring you comfort.

Dear larsslc, (This is posted on your profile, also.)

I wish to extend my deepest sympathies to you and your family on the loss of your daughter Suzi, whom we knew as Sunmeadow. I was honored to collaborate creatively here on this site.

So many tributes have been created over the past two and a half days since we learned of her death, it may take weeks for you to see and read them all. I hope they bring you comfort in this difficult time. Suzi truly beautified our on-line community.

I will be praying for your family.

Sincerely,

~ketisse

My Heartfelt sympathies to you and your family-God takes away people, whom He likes rather young and early-I am sad that Suzi had some discomfiture, which ultimately swallowed Her-Let the Lord give You and your wife all the courage to withstand this Huge Loss-Time always heals-Words fail me -Suzy is a treasure and Her work will stand the Test of time Here for years and tears together.

Dear Mr. Larsen,

Thanks for posting here and share with us something about her.
I have never met Suzi in person before but I admire all her amazing works. I was so happy when she followed me here :)

Once again, my deepest condolences goes to you and your family for this sad loss.
May she rest in peace.

Thank you Sunmeadow. This makes me realise how each of us has a special place not only in our lives but here also, where we can share each other's talents and insights into colour and design.
You will be greatly missed Sunmeadow. What a beautiful gift you were, and thankfully will continue to be, through our being able to see your work.

Thank u

I remember Sunmeadow was the first to reach out, back when I was a clumsy, newbie colour lover, trying to find my way. She was always so generous with her support and encouragement. And enormously talented. I was blessed to have known her, even if it was for just a short while.

Sunmeadow, you will be missed. Rest in peace.

Having only been here since November, I am honored to have been here while she was here too. Her creations are breathtaking to behold. I still just can't believe she's gone, condolences to her loved ones and all of those dear to her. See you soon Sunmeadow when we are all together again.
